- Riu Palace Tres Islas Hotel

In the spectacular dunes in the north of Fuerteventura, Spain, stands the Hotel Riu Palace Tres Islas. The magnificent building enjoys a seafront location on Playa de Corralejo beach and boasts beautiful sea views. With its crystal clear waterand kilometres of sandy beaches it's not surprising that some of these dunes have been used by photographers and for advertisements on TV. Besides the excellent temperatures and atmosphere, the Palace offers you holidays where you can enjoy a well deserved rest during your stay. It includes two fresh water swimming pools, a solarium terrace, hot tub, sauna, gym and the “Renova Spa” health and beauty centre with a range of different treatments and massages. There's no better way to taste the typical flavours of the Canary Islands than by sampling the menus carefully prepared for you by our chefs.
We had a lovely stay and felt it offered great value for money. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout, the food was good with plenty of choice, and the entertainment was enjoyable. The beach is right on the doorstep, and the bus into town is easy to catch, making it simple to explore the local area. A very special thank you to Ihab and Borja, who were absolutely amazing with our 18-month-old daughter. Like most toddlers, she was full of energy and a little mischievous at mealtimes, but they always took the time to keep her entertained by making little people out of spoons and napkins, making her laugh and smile every day. Their patience, kindness, and genuine care made such a difference to our holiday and allowed us to enjoy our meals that little bit more.
They are a real credit to the hotel and the main restaurant team. Thank you both for helping to make our family holiday so memorable – we really appreciated everything you did.
Worst place we ever stayed in. First of all. This place is for retired people. Average age 65. There’s nothing to do if you come with the family ( 2 x late 40s, 1x 14years old, 1x25 years old) There’s nothing there but swimming pool. And still no water games or entertainments(old fashion “karaoke” singers and dancing for grandparents after dinner ain’t entertainment). Nothing at all. This place is as boring as hell. One bufet restaurant and one à la card. Such a huge resort and there’s absolutely nothing here. We’ve been to many riu resorts but never come across anything like that. Shame. Rooms are horrible. Every day same food. Poor service( called reception to ask for extra set of towels to be placed in our room for every day of our stay- never been followed. I had to call every single day). No smiling or engaging into conversation as barely anyone speaks English. Three people didn’t understand “peanut butter “. They charge for latte coffee in all inclusive option- every Riu we went to had coffee bar. When I asked when tea and coffee tray will be replenished, in the answer I heard that this is curtesy on arrival only and if I want anything extra I need to ask in bar. Tea and coffee tray- expression of curtesy = ridiculous! When I asked for iron I was nearly interviewed: when I need it? How long for? When will I use it?- girl at reception said that they don’t have enough irons so I wasn’t allowed to keep it. If you want leftover from decent sun chairs you need to come at 6:30am otherwise no recliners for you. There’s no enough sun chairs when hotel is full. Beach doesn’t belong to the hotel so does not sun chairs on the beach ( you need to pay for them) which is very misleading on Tui website pictures. This place is a joke ( but nobody’s laughing). Not 5 stars at all. I wanted to cry after realising where I took my family to. All these bad reviews I read after are correct. This Riu hotel disappointed us big time. Avoid at any cost if you are not 65+ and have any expectations.
Just returned from a week's break from this Hotel. I was a bit concerned after reading that it was in need of refurbishment and some guests comments but we enjoyed our visit. While I agree that some upgrading needs to be done, our room was clean, towels and beds were changed and the shower was powerful with plenty of warm water. The staff were great with table service for drinks. Food was usual buffet style with plenty of choice. I was pleased that orange juice at breakfast was fresh, not the concentrate you get at some hotels. I noted that guests paying for drinks rather than all inclusive (which we were) had nicer glasses for their drinks, which I found odd. Everything was conveniently close which I appreciated as I cannot walk far. The only thing that disappointed was that we were not allowed to keep our room on for 3 hours after checkout time, as we had an evening flight. We were offered use of a room for half an hour to shower but that was too much of a faff for me. Pool was lovely. All being said, I would definitely have no issues with staying here again.
The hotel is truly amazing. It's fantastically located right on the beach, with incredibly friendly and attentive staff. The food served in the restaurants was delicious. The hotel needs a little renovation, but I really like the style and furnishings.
Thank you for providing us with a pleasant stay. The only comment is the low level of the evening performances.
