Labranda Corralejo Village

I should first clarify that this is really a review of "Alisios Playa": So why is this appearing as a review for BLUESEA Corralejo Village? Well... Because that was the resort I selected, booked, and paid for..... But when I checked in, I was told "Your apartment will be next door in our Bluesea Alisios property. We will give you a wrist band that allows you to come to this resort if you want". So having viewed the resorts own website, and the various facilities on offer and the 30+ photos and based on that I made my booking – But I ended up staying in a property that is located next door that:

• Does not feature in any of the website gallery photos
• Is an older resort which seemed to be 50% vacation rental, and 50% owner-occupier
• Is in need of renovation, and in some areas, is under renovation.
• Does not have a restaurant
• Does not have a bar
• Does not have parasols by the pool
• Does not have any pool lifeguard
• Is most definitely not at the same grade/quality as the main complex.

It is true that the white wristband allowed me to enter the main site and access the bar and restaurant… But then again, having left my property I was free to access any of the resultants or bars on the main street, so it is not really the same thing. In terms of location, since the 2 resorts were 100m/200m from the main street and a 20min walk gets you to the beach or the Old Town, the location was excellent. The atmosphere was ‘odd’ – I have stayed in apartments in residential complexes, rented directly from the owner, or via an agency, and this felt more like that, than a traditional resort experience. The rooms were OK – A little compact and dated in their décor, especially when compared to the room images on the resort’s website. On several mornings we awoke to the sound of renovations works on individual apartments. There was also some works taking place on, or around, the pool, and initially we were told it was not available, but then just used it when it appeared that others were using it. We did go up to the pool at the main resort on 1 or 2 mornings, but every lounger appeared to be “reserved with a towel”! 4 Days into our 8 Day stay we asked about the cleaning & towel/bedding replacement schedule and were told “once per week” – In the end our apartment was never cleaned, or bed sheets and towels were never replaced. At best, the whole experience was very misleading… Perhaps even fraudulent i.e. Marketing/Selling and Pricing a holiday based on one resort, and then booking a much inferior separate resort, without making this clear to the customer.

If you are looking for a central location, and have no issue with possibly not ending up in the resort you selected & booked, and the possibility of ending up in a inferior resort with none of the facilities that you thought you would have.... then there is no issue – Otherwise, I would give BlueSea Village a miss; Or at very least, before you make a booing, seek written confirmation that your room will be in the “main complex, and not in the older, run-down” resort next door.

I expect that our experience would have been much different had we stayed in the resort we booked... but unfortunately I cannot be sure.

Great location, Friendly staff, food fine always find something too your taste, bars good choice and friendly welcome. Always found a sunbed and relax atmosphere,join in the games if you wish but not pesterd if you don't want too. Ignore the comments about birds in restaurant, it's only like eating elfresco. Just enjoy your holiday.

Lovely hotel, food good, staff friendly and helpful. Right near to town and beach with all you could ask for a holiday. Relaxing at the hotel or partying in town- a good place to be. Room was great and all good value for money.
