Just 10 minutes away on foot from this beautiful property lies to the town of Corralejo. This town was once a delightful fishing village which has now become a popular tourist hot spot due to diverse culture, sandy beaches and endless opportunities for activities such as kite surfing and water-sports.

Could be better!
The hotel was really lovely, great 1 bedroom apartment, separate room with bed settee, nice balcony. Beautiful gardens well maintained.Main pool area good however most of the sunbeds had black mould on them. Other pools in complex had newer beds. Food in restaurant was ok but not great for vegetarians . At best this hotel is only 3 star. Most of staff were lovely with the exception of one or two in the pool bar. Some of the public areas require updating eg, toilets just off reception and toilets at the main pool
Overview of stay with Family in July 26
Location - about 1.5 hour airport transfer. Popcorn beach within 10 mins walk. Beaches this end of island are rocky and tidal dependent. 15 min in taxi to beach at north end of play grande- beautiful soft sand turquoise sea, lifeguard, with supermarket near by and small beach bar/restaurant. Area seems a little run down with many derelict buildings. Market on Sunday at campanario good. Hotel- mostly clean, mouldy sunbeds around main pool, quieter pools dotted around which was nice. Enthusiastic entertainment staff offering array of activities throughout week. Rooms clean and mostly well kept. We had AC which wasn't working. This was not dealt with promptly and we spent 2 nights without AC. Hotel only offered new room once easyJet got involved. Manager did not respond or apologise to my email complaint. Main pool and 2 smaller pools were the best. The top pool could do with a deep clean and fixing of tiles- a bit shabby. Food/drink Bars offer a selection of cocktails which weren't very good, better to stick to spirits etc. snacks could be improved in pool bar. Nice touches like sangria making, BBQ and churros stations on separate afternoons. Self serve hot drinks and non alcoholic drinks at poolside. Scoop ice cream self serve at poolside. Food ok for all inclusive - we've had better but also had worse! Not much vegetarian options for veges in our group and not labelled very well. Overall nice stay marred by broken AC and subsequent room change.
Thomas the manager is an arrogant bully!
My 18 year old daughter is currently staying at the Alua Suites with her 18 year old boyfriend on her first holiday without her parents. For the last three days, they have had no working air conditioning in their room and one day, no electricity at all. They have tried to complain but the manager, Thomas, is a patronising bully, who seems to think little 18 year old English girls of 4'11" and weighing 85lbs are fair game to be spoken down to, bullied, dismissed and ignored. He refuses point blank to discuss the issue with her or her boyfriend, has not fixed the problem with the air conditioning and refuses to find them another room.
My daughter spoke to Martha last night, who was lovely and extremely helpful but has no say over such matters and told my daughter that the issue can only be resolved by Thomas.
Thomas is a bully and a disgrace to your hotel. I have logged a complaint with your parent company and we will be taking this further.
A wonderful holiday it was the best
What a fab holiday, from the time we checked in nothing was too much trouble. The reception staff were so welcoming. Our room was amazing lovely and spacious, and the view was lovely. The housekeeping staff were wonderful our room was always kept clean and tidy. The pool was lovely just outside our room. Always plenty of sunbeds. The restaurant was also lovely and spacious, and the food on all meals was lovely and hot and lots of choice. The staff worked hard, a speical mention to kapa who always had a lovely smile. Would we come back we certainly will as we had such a memorable holiday thank u alua suites for all your hard work.
Another great holiday
I've just come back from a thoroughly enjoyable 11 nights at this resort. It's our sixth time at the hotel, but it seems to get better each time. We stayed in the 'My Family Club' (adults only section) and we're already booked in to go back at Christmas.
Rooms are spacious and cleaned to a good standard and the food on offer is very good indeed (and I'm quite a fussy eater).
The MFC area is very quiet during the daytime, which suits us down to the ground. The pool bar is very well run by the friendly and efficient Carolina. Mari Carmen did just as a good job on Carolina's days off.
In the evening, we ate at the MFC restaurant (special shout out to Micky) and rather than enjoy the nearby entertainment afterwards, we went back to the Lobby Bar for a quieter evening. The staff there were especially great Whether it was the affable Omar, the one-man cabaret that is Frances or the cool but caring Diego, we were made to feel like special guests every single evening.
Everyone's idea of the perfect holiday is understandably different, but for us it ticks all the boxes, just as it has on all our other visits.
