We booked this hotel largely because of its strong TripAdvisor rating (close to 5 stars) and its Marriott Bonvoy affiliation, expecting a standard of service and quality in line with the Marriott/Sheraton brand. Unfortunately, at an average rate of £450 per night, our stay fell well short — closer to a solid 3-star experience overall. Food (half board): The food was consistently underwhelming — bland, under-seasoned, and repetitive across the stay, with little variety and no themed or specialty dining nights to break up the menu. Restaurant service: Staff in the restaurant were inattentive and service felt disorganized, which was disappointing given the price point. Half board inclusions: Water was not included with dinner under the half board package, which felt like a poor omission at this price tier. Room quality: The pillows were clearly past their usable life — flat and unsupportive, leaving us with stiff necks and shoulders each morning. We also found staining on the bed sheets and bathrobe in our room, which raised cleanliness concerns. Grounds and facilities: The landscaping around the hotel and pool areas felt tired and under-maintained, and the property overall lacked modernization compared to what we’d expect from a Sheraton. The one genuine highlight was the beach directly behind the hotel, which is beautiful and the main reason we’d hesitate to rate this any lower. Given the gap between the advertised rating/brand and our actual experience, we’d encourage other travelers to look closely at recent reviews and not rely solely on the overall star rating before booking — especially at this price point.
We had an absolutely amazing stay at the Sheraton! The hotel stands out beautifully in the landscape and looks stunning—it really is an impressive resort.
The hotel was spotless throughout, the food was excellent, and all of the staff were so friendly and welcoming. A special mention has to go to Tom, who greeted us every morning with a smile and really made our stay extra special.
The pool was fantastic, and we loved that the pool towels were fresh and clean every day. Le Veranda served delicious food, and we really enjoyed eating there.
The entertainment for the kids was brilliant too. Our 11-year-old absolutely loved the daily water polo and football club with Aaron. There was always plenty to keep children entertained, making it a perfect family holiday.
If I had a few small suggestions, it would be to add a couple more tills at Le Veranda, as it became quite congested during busy times. It would also be great to have a few water refill stations or water machines around the resort, especially as it’s so hot and it would help families stay hydrated throughout the day. The pool area could also have done with an occasional wash down, as the wind often knocked over drinks—but that’s all part of being on the windy island!
Overall, these were only very minor points and certainly didn’t take away from what was a fantastic holiday. The location is great, the resort is beautiful, and we can’t wait to come back after the refurbishment. We would highly recommend the Sheraton to anyone looking for a relaxing, family-friendly holiday.
I came here 2 years ago with my family we loved it so much we came again amazing pools lovely food amazing service aswell nice staff and the rooms are amazing highly recommend the presidential suite and Tara was amazing at helping us sort things out 5 stars!!!!
This was our second visit to this hotel and it won't be our last. This is the only hotel we've ever returned to and it was just as great as the last time. The hotel is extremely clean and the rooms very conformable. We had a sea view room on level 3 with an amazing view across the pool to the sea. The location is very much on the beach and is perfect for the short walk into Caleta or to to the local shops. The pool is clean and well maintained and there are always plenty of sun beds. The thing that makes this hotel special are the food and the staff, both amazing. There are so many people we could thank, but special mention to Cristian, Rachid, Brahim, Sammuel, Pedro and Jeremias for making our stay so special, in fact everybody we came into contact with was just incredible. Honestly, the best hotel I've ever encountered, and I'm sure we will be back. Thank you everybody for making our holiday one to remember.
