This luxurious hotel is located in front of a golden sandy beach. In the area, guests will find a shopping centre with restaurants, boutiques, and cinemas, and there are public transportation links 300 m away. Bars and a nightclub can be found approximately 2 km from the hotel. This is an ideal place for a relaxing holiday under the warm Canary sun. The property features four on-site restaurants, where guests can enjoy a wide range of culinary options. From Mediterranean dishes to Asian cuisine, the hotel satisfies your every craving. The establishment welcomes business and leisure travellers with 4 outdoor pools, a mini-golf course, a full-service spa and 6 function rooms. Other amenities include a steam room, ice igloo and a tennis court. Elegant and spacious rooms provide guests a true “home away from home” experience, with thoughtful touches like bathrobes and slippers. Guests can enjoy satellite TV and stay connected with free Wi-Fi. The bathroom offers hair dryer and free toiletries.
First time we have returned to a hotel and glad we did. Family of 4 with two primary age kids. The rooms are more than big enough, even with two additional beds in the room for the kids and 4 suitcases knocking about.
The food is really good for a buffet and whilst it repeats its themes over the 7 days, there is enough to keep it varied over two weeks. It looks like they try to reduce waste as well.
The staff are really nice, friendly and helpful when needed. A cheeky massage was worth a few quid and competitively priced.
Not generally a fan of hotel shows but the kids wanted to watch. Only one or two were not that good.
The beach is literally on the doorstep and is really nice, as is the bigger beach 5 minutes walk. 5 minutes the other way is a very well stocked supermarket (bought lots of cheap wine there). The cafe in the sea outside is lovely too.
The 3 pools (plus toddler pool) are great, meaning they never feel crowded like other hotels. The staff put on plenty of activities, the kids loving the pool ones. Plenty of sunbeds, and it's us Brits that stick their towels on first thing! Still plenty about though.
Two slight negatives. The hotel is showing its age now, told its closing after the summer until easter 27 for a full refurbishment. Much needed and very interested to see what it looks like next year.
Drinks are really quite expensive comparatively, which is not a huge issue for us as we dont drink much, but is a shame. €14 for a cocktail is a lot considering just down the prom they are half the price. They don't scrimp on alcohol in servings though. We did buy some cheap booze down the road for the room.
Would happily stay again, especially if the refurbishment goes well.
We stayed at the Sheraton Fuerteventura Beach, Golf & Spa Resort in August 2026 and unfortunately left with mixed feelings. There are some genuine positives, but overall the hotel did not live up to the standards we would expect from a Sheraton or a five-star Marriott property.
What we liked
The breakfast was excellent, with a very good selection and high-quality food.
The pool area is also very nice, with a good variety of pools and plenty of space to relax.
What could be improved
Unfortunately, there were quite a few issues during our stay.
The service, especially in the restaurants, was often disappointing. Some members of staff appeared unmotivated or even unfriendly. At times, we actually felt uncomfortable asking a question or making a simple request.
The evening buffet was extremely crowded. Even though we arrived directly at opening time at around 7:00 pm, there were already long queues. At €45 per person, excluding drinks, the buffet is also far too expensive for what is offered.
The pool towel policy is difficult to understand. Towels are limited, and the towel service is only available from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. If you want to use the pool later in the afternoon and need a fresh towel, you are simply out of luck.
The sun loungers are another issue. If you do not reserve one early in the morning, it becomes very difficult to find a shaded lounger from around 10:00 am onwards. When we asked for assistance, nobody really helped us find an alternative. We were essentially left on our own.
We also noticed overflowing rubbish bins in several areas of the hotel, which is not something I would expect from a five-star resort.
During the first two days, our room was not cleaned until we specifically asked for it. This was particularly disappointing.
There is also an inconsistency regarding the Marriott Bonvoy Platinum benefit: in some restaurants, the 20% discount is applied, while in others it is not. This is confusing and should be consistent or communicated much more clearly at check-in.
The hotel and rooms feel dated in many areas and are in need of significant renovation. The mattress in our room was extremely soft and caused me back pain. Of course, mattress firmness is subjective, but the overall condition of the room contributed to the impression that the property needs updating.
Overall
The hotel has some strong points, particularly the excellent breakfast and attractive pool area, but these positives were outweighed for us by the inconsistent service, outdated condition, overcrowding, and several policies that simply do not feel appropriate for a five-star resort.
As a Marriott Bonvoy Platinum member, I had expected a considerably higher level of service and attention to detail. Unfortunately, based on our experience, I would not currently recommend this hotel if you are looking for a modern, well-maintained and consistently high-quality five-star resort experience. I wouldn't be surprised if Marriott were to kick out this facility from the group soon.
We've just returned from another fantastic holiday. While the location is nice and relaxing, it is the staff that really make the difference and that is why we come back year after year after year. They go above and beyond to look after everyone from start to finish.
As always the highlight for our child is the mini disco and Alex is great fun keeping the kids fully entertained with his high energy routines…all the kids loved it. Olga and Aaron from the animation team are also so nice and friendly.
Other notable shout outs for exceptional friendliness and service are David, Michel, Fabiano, Nelio, Tom, Michaela
A particular mention has to go to Jeremias in the restaurant who combines attentive service and great humour.
As other people have commented, the decor is now a bit tired but there is a big refurb about to commence.
Thank you to everyone for making our holiday so memorable. We will be back next year after the refurb completes .

The most wonderful 10 day holiday spent at the Sheraton. The food is delicious, rooms are very spacious and clean. The mini disco is fantastic every night, our daughter loved it - the team are great. Entertainment is very good and well organised.
The staff are wonderful here - Andrea, Ali and Hajar from the restaurant buffet give 5 star service always. Michaela and Tom from the Management team are wonderful at fulfilling guest requests and are so friendly. Overall a brilliant place to stay for families. We will be back!
Room Room at the Sheraton was an adapted one per our request. It was very spacious and beds comfortable . We had a sofa bed in room also for our grandson .
Bathroom Very large , toilet had grab rails , however the shower needed more for improved safety . Seperate basin area with large wardrobes .
Balcony had 2 large comfy chairs wicker with cushions ..perfect. ( I still think they should add another chair if 3 of us were staying ) I used chair from bedroom. No washing rack on balcony for swimwear to dry !
Housekeeping : hit and miss . Towels were removed every day but often not replaced ..or replaced with 1 or 2 …?? for 3 of us . I had to go to reception several times to ask for towels.. not good ! I also lost an earring , after 2 days I found it in base of shower .. to me shows it wasn’t cleaned properly .
The reception check in was very slow and I kept asking for water , she said oh in a minute of course . It took about 15 mins for this to arrive . Tbh I would have expected a drink offered to us immediately on arrival in a so called 5 star hotel.( Which is isn’t ..more a 4 star. ) I am aware that it is being renovated and does need it , we knew this when we booked and appreciated the rooms were dated ,but corridors very gloomy and staircases very dark . Lifts were ok though and we could just about fit scooter in at a pinch . So accessibility was good around the hotel for my husband on his scooter. Apart from access from pool area to building , back to room , it was not an automated sliding door , someone had to open it . So be mindful if you are alone and have to use scooter or wheelchair .
Outside The promenade is very poor , if you are disabled or have walking issues . Cracked tiles, holes and so on. No problem if able bodied . Good walk to centre and short walk to end of prom. The beaches are much better outside the Sheraton and Elba carlotta than Barcelo hotel areas ..(they are gritty ) . There is a good shopping centre a few mins walk away with shops, bars, supermarket etc. a super little cafe in the Spar , good coffee.
Entertainment Fabulous kids entertainment in pools ,ie water polo , floaties allowed, bouncy castle in water ,foam parties , archery and football at 4 / 5 pm most days . Great for our 11 year old grandson .lots of kids for him to play with . I saw a great little ones pool with some entertainment , but don’t know about evening for little ones ? Games room was used by older kids and teens . Table tennis , pool. Piano bar was nice place to sit .. in or out during the evening . They had singers on most nights.
Dining Inside and outside seating at breakfast and dinner . Super brekkie and some good , some not as good eve meals . The queue for freshly cooked meat and fish was awful sometimes at peak times . They should cook some ready instead of just cooking when asked . My husband could not stand there and wait , I did but often couldn’t be bothered getting in a queue to get a piece of cooked chicken . So didn’t bother , just got salad . La veranda : lunch outside and inside available ..good food , great spot , but I thought expensive drinks and food . So just went as a treat now and again . Ie 13.50 for a larios G and T ? Pizzas were good though , around 15 euros + I think . You could get take away for the sunbed . Would I stay again ? Maybe ? if the price was reasonable . The pool areas were brilliant , I could keep an eye on my grandson and relax too knowing that he was well looked after by the team when participating in an activity .
The resort is very close to the airport so planes ✈️ going over but we knew that ( we wanted short transfer ) and it wasn’t an issue at all .
