Elba Sara Beach and Golf Resort

What can I say...absolutely amazing. I went here for 4 nights/5 days on my first ever solo holiday ( I am 42) and I could not have wished for a better hotel. The extra small details that can be important especially as travelling alone really went a long way. Champagne upon arrival British terrestrial channels ( TV was enormous!) Fantastic air con , huge bathroom. My view was idyllic. Probably the most comfortable beds and pillows I have never slept on in a hotel abroad. Beds changed daily fresh towels etc The choice of drinks on AI was brilliant and the bar upstairs was a lovely touch as served in proper glasses- very generous too! The staff were wonderful, especially the chefs and waiters at service, so quick to attend to you. I could not fault this hotel at all . The location itself is what I would call paradise for a solo traveller. Gorgeous beaches within 5-10 minute stroll, I felt so safe as it is a very relaxed quiet and immaculate area. I will definitely be returning. Thank you Elba Sara for making my first trip alone so much better than I ever imagined.

Bad points. Pool’s desperately need refurbishing as do all sunbeds and grass area for adults only Jacuzzi beds smell awful Pool liner on small pool full of dangerous air pockets

This isn’t the first visit to this hotel and let me start by saying that we only went back hoping it would be better. However there’s a lot of negatives about the Elba Sara and it may just be me and everyone else may think differently but this is my honest review. The reception staff are always very welcoming and always go up and beyond to help out. However, Elba Sara Negatives as off September 2026

• same food days as last year and the years before that
• Food gave upset bellies so ended up eating out more
• Dated hotel - Not 4/5* as advertised
• Ripped wall paper in many areas
• Cracked sink in room 616
• Dirty shower as in a yellow stain in room 616
• Patio doors don’t lock Room 616
• Bedside table chipped/wobbley/coming away from wall room 616
• Air con not working properly
• Holes in towels
• Holes in bedding sheets
• Fridge not secure in cupboard
• Had to pay for safe why when All inclusive so wrong
• Poolside dirty - needs a massive disinfecting and scrubbing
• Poolside loungers dipping - heavier people using them
• Full beds with foam mattress dirty and have too pay when all inclusive
• Hammocks all marked in adults only area
• Pool floor cracked
• Wood warped
• Wood unstable over bridge
• Wood needs painting
• Ceramic tiles missing sound the pool edge
• Scum on pool wall
• Astro turf stinks in middle of pool
• Wooden windows flaking - Tuscan bar
• Tuscan bar roof falling down
• Plastic cups dirty
• Plastic plants out of date and dusty
• Chairs in outta area upstairs flat the foam gone and dirty why not choose a darker colour
• Toilets downstairs stink
• Mops being used have a smell - not cleaned or using dirty water
• Path ways unkept - sweep twigs up round gardens
• Sports equipment broken for activities
• Sport Astro ripped where archery takes place
• inadequate seating round by archery so standing in the heat
• Ponds dirty - unhealthy for fish
• Outside walls not modern anymore
• Lady in Italian very rude not the young one very dark hair
• Italian food was bad, pasta too thick, blue bottles landing on food
• Never been able to keep room on so shower room gets too hot
• Entertainment shocking - same singers at night becomes boring
• Some staff rude

Positives

• Ruben, Alex entertainment staff fantastic credit to company
• Reception staff welcoming.

Yes there’s a lot of negatives but honestly the amount of people using the hotel they aren’t short of money so make the improvements and get your rating back up. For now Elba Sara it’s over and out for a while
