Caybeach Caleta is located in a 2 minutes walk from the beach and 150 metres from Castillo centre. This appartments with one or two bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen and bathroom, sofa bed in the living room and a large terrace with chairs and sunloungers ready to enjoy are the best option to discover Fuerteventura. Family fun awaits at the hotel's multisport and playground areas where have a mini golf match, discover the tennis court or have a bath in the swimming pool is a must.
Stayed 7 nights late August-early September, family of four with grandmother and 2 teenagers. Pros: Bungalows are very spacious (stayed in 2 bed close to pool), clean and quiet and ours was very private. Veranda is great and enjoyed sun loungers and table and chairs out there. Generally staff friendly and helpful. Gentleman looking after breakfast told us off for going into breakfast 9.50am one morning maybe he was just having a bad day! Breakfast was really good, plenty of hot and cold choices and really nice omlettes made be lovely friendly ladies. Location is good, 5-10 mins to bars, restaurants and beach and family enjoyed local market on Tues and Saturdays with fake hats, bags, football shirts etc!
Cons: Literally just the sunbed situation needs some investment. Sunbed wars at this establishment take it to another level than the early risers bagging them all. Sunbeds are stacked at 6pm and locked up until 10am (11.30 on one day whereby lady lifeguard got stuck on the bus apparently, not sure why the keys are taken off the premises - I think eventually they found a spare set and after trying every key got them unlocked). Some guests start from about 9-9.30am guarding umbrellas and surrounding the sunbeds until they are unlocked. Some families with large numbers ensured they got front row at the pool daily by putting towels where they would then put their sunbed. This is an area that needs some investment, many of the umbrellas and beds are broken, one day our umbrella flew out of it's stand and landed on the family behind, thankfully no-one was injured.
Superb little resort if you are here to work remotely. There are some lovely cafes around for breakfast etc. 6 of us stayed here and we would all stay again.
We had a great holiday here, 11 nights. There were some ants in our apartment which was swiftly rectified by a cleaner. The TV remote didn't work and we couldn't use our firestorm, but hey, we didn't go on holiday to watch TV. The patios were a great added bonus. The only big criticism I have is the sunbed situation. People are round the pool by 9am every morning, clutching on to parasols, hands on sunbeds, waiting for them to be unlocked. It was quite entertaining to watch. So, if you're wanting the kind of holiday where you sit round a pool all day, be prepared to humiliate yourself for the privilege. We booked bed and breakfast, I didn't have high hopes about the breakfast based on previous reviews, but i was very pleasantly surprised. Lots of choice, hot and cold buffet self service. Someone was making pancakes on demand, as well an omelettes. It was really very decent food. Great location, supermarkets reasonable compared to other holiday destinations. We went on an all inclusive boat trip and also to the water park. A couple of days at the beach, hired scooters too. There was a music festival on the beach while were there which was great, lots for the kids to do as well.
AVOID! I’ve been here for 2 weeks with my children ages 0,4,5,6,9 & 11.
It’s been a disaster, I have lots of cons -
Sunbed wars, only 81 sunbeds, staff don’t stick to the no reservation policy
Kids club is closed, no alternatives, nothing for kids to do
no mini golf, it’s all broken and run down
no evening entertainment apart from bingo
no gym or sauna
all arcade games are broken and steal euros, hotel says there’s nothing they can do as it’s not their equipment
rooms say for a family of 4, but the sofa bed is a thin piece of foam, ours were all stained with what looked like blood, all covers were ripped
fridge doesn’t close, freezer door was non existent
our extractor fan didn’t work
air con is dirty, full of black mould, doesn’t ventilate through the whole apartment
we found cockroaches in our room, lots of ants also
key card system is awkward and complicated, there is no security around the hotel, the hotels gates can just be opened without keycard, lots of the apartments are on the roadside near cars
breakfast is expensive compared to cafes in the town
constant sewage smell in the air near swimming pool
swimming pool all 1 depth of 1.35m - not good for little ones
staff are rude and clearly don’t want to be there
when I complain to reception staff they avoid my questions and complaints then continue by saying manager is unavailable
regarding the area, I wouldn’t recommend elderly or wheelchair users, curbs are very high, floors are cracked and broken in lots of places and the area is covered in rubbish. The beaches are beautiful, it all just needs some TLC.
Pros -
Shocking experience so far, here 2 days and the fighting for the sun beds is a disgrace, both MEN and women are out guarding the beds before the woman comes over and releases them. There’s not enough beds for everybody hence the carry on at 10 o clock in the morning. I wouldn’t come back here whatsoever, it’s like a free for all, would NOT recommend.
