Located right on Caleta de Fuste Beach, Barcelo Fuerteventura Castillo features 3 swimming pools, a Thalasso Spa, a daily entertainment programme and a kid's club. The Thalasso Spa includes seawater pools, hydromassage jets, a sauna, sensation showers, massages, and a gym. At the marina you can practise a wide range of water sports. There are also 2 golf courses within 10 minutes' drive. There are several restaurants at Barcelo Castillo Beach Resort offering local and international cuisine. You will also find many bars, including a poolside bar, sports bar and a theatre with evening shows.
I paid an additional €122 to choose a bungalow located overlooking the beach. Unfortunately a large gang of local teenagers gathered on a bench just outside the complex and directly bopposite our accommodation most evenings, between 10pm and around midnight. At times they got quite loud, and a few of them urinated up the palm trees just outside the fence to the hotel. My friend had to cough quite loudly to alert them to the fact that we were sitting on our patio. (Either that or suffer being exposed to their nether regions, particularly with the bright street lighting). Not quite what we were expecting! The accommodation was kept spotlessly clean with room service daily, however for what we paid the self catering facilities were basic ( no oven) and quite tired looking. The shower had some mould on the sealant and the vanity unit had some water damage to the legs. All the staff we came into contact with were friendly, appeared to be happy and were all helpful. I have pointed out to the hotel that inflatables and balls shouldn’t be permitted in pools as this did spoil any relaxing time spent there, particularly since a number of balls almost hit us whilst we lay on our sunbeds. It was also difficult to swim with balks and inflatables taking up a lot of space. Guests have a tendency to leave the security gates on the complex open which was really annoying considering the number of locks on the doors and windows of the bungalow. These suggested to me that break ins have possibly happened there previously. (Again this has been pointed out to the hotel). Leaving my review on a positive note - the location of the hotel is great, and there are some nice walks to be enjoyed along the sea front, beds are super comfortable with a variety of 3 pillows, and I slept like a baby every night. Even the previously mentioned teenagers didn’t disturb my early nights, with the aircon acting as white noise to drown out their loud voices.
Would not recommend this hotel or area at all no good bars like steeping back 20years nothing has changed beer is terrible food just standard and cold room basic and we stayed in the royal level the only thing royal about it was the price stay well clear so many better places to go at half the price Had to change rooms 3 times aircon not working then they put us in to a room with no bedrooms and I have 2 teenage daughters so had to change again there in nothing positive I can say about this place probably one of the worst holidays I have had in 20 years avoid avoid
really nice and calm place for vacation for families. Very good and tasty food!!!!! Breakfast and dinners were full of really tasty food
Lovely hotel in a great position and close to the town centre and the beach, staff were very good and attentive
Definitely not a 4 star unfortunately. Food was lovely and as are the staff but we were plagued by maintenance issues. We arrived at 11pm and couldn't sleep through the constant rattling noise of the air con unit..when we turned it off it then leaked water all over the floor. Got moved to another room and the AC unit poured with water and the safe was temperamental. The pool was cleaned once on our visit, constantly dirty cups and straws lying around. Sunbeds covered in bird pool. Guests from other hotels constantly trying to get me to let them through the locks gates. Also always big queues at reception as well. Barcy Kids club was not always open and if it was it was often for a reduce time....no communication of this. The Barcelo hotel was far better...especially the drinks in the bar and entertainment but it was very busy. Will not be back
