I’ve been to fuerteventura once before, In my honest opinion I’d not stay here again mainly because of my disabled mother as wasn’t easy for her
Location- close to the airport, out of the way of town but could get a taxi readily and for 6 of us easily for around €4-€5 to caleta de fuste
Atmosphere- this was fine, nice around the pool in the day with pool bar and snacks and entertainment and music, we didn’t use the bar area
Room- the room was dated could really do with a revamp, Although clean and tidy there were ants around the sink area, broken floor tiles it just looked tired. There’s wasn’t any air conditioning in the room and for 6 out of the 7 of us struggle to sleep in the heat, so we hired a fan from the shop for €15 + €10 deposit which didn’t really do much, as me, my mum and daughter were on the ground floor me and my daughter slept on the sofa bed with the patio door open all night just to get the breeze
Hotel is quiet come night time we were all in bed by 10pm and was peaceful
We were informed a week or so before our holiday that the lift would still be out of order, but to of changed hotels would have cost a lot more money as prices had risen, to change hotels we would have if price wasn’t an issue and my mum is disabled and really struggled to get up to the food hall 3 times a day but she managed by taking her time and resting when needed.
All the staff were friendly and extremely helpful so I can’t fault them and the cleaners always knocked before cleaning, they cleaned daily, changed towels 3 times in the week we were there and changed bed once, and emptied the bins.
We had free tickets to the water park but didn’t realise we had to book the bus before 5pm the previous day so we got a taxi for 6 which cost €65 each way, but worth the day out the kids really enjoyed it.
Lovely hotel and friendly staff we came as a family on the 26th August pool was fab rooms were clean the 2 men on bar were lovely and came over to us on are last day to say goodbye only thing was the food as my grandson is a fussy eater and could only have sausage bacon hotdogs and burgers every day but otherwise lovely relaxing hoilday we will be back
So, I’ve been home a few days and between the kids being back at school and me being back to work I finally feel human enough to post about our first family holiday 2026! ☀️💛
We absolutely loved the hotel and honestly I couldn’t say one bad thing about the room, it was clean, spaceious and we had a lovely view overlooking the pool area! 🏊♀️
The buffet/all inclusive was as to expected, there was a choice of foods - my only complaint (and this is so minimal) there was only 1 out of 10 times the chips were actually hot, other than that even my fussy eater (3YO) found something. (Even if it was plain rice, but that’s definitely a her problem rather than a hotel problem)
The pool area was lovely, there was plenty of seating area and when we did choose to have the loungers we didn’t struggle, it was probably more the location than actually obtaining a lounger as both of my children only wanted to be in the little pool so we wanted something near by, but it was only 2 days out of the 7 that we wanted this and didn’t have an issue, the other times we opted for bar area and just went into the big pool with my youngest.
The actual pool - my biggest complaint with the pool was the steps that dropped you down into the different depths, there’s no marking on these and the amount of times (not only us) fell up or down them was ridiculous. I am not a confident swimmer I’ll be honest, as soon as my feet can’t touch the bottom I go into panic mode, due to this I stayed tightly clung to my partner or assisted my 3 YO, there was an incident where my partner couldn’t see the step, tripped back whilst I was on his back and he was holding our daughter, he’s then gone under in the deepest part of the pool, it turned into all arms and legs whilst we attempted to keep my daughters head above the water 🤣🫣
The entertainment; the entertainers were really enthusiastic within there roles, although a lot of the activities that were on the board were missed for whatever reasons so I cannot really comment; (missed because they didn’t actually take place)
The evening entertainment; we didn’t go to the evening entertainment every night but on the 4 days we did, the kids loved just running round and making friends, one of the days the entertainer was actually on and he did a mini disco and a quiz (yes I was absolutely the parent who got roped into doing it) the other days it was just music being played from a speaker, and one night it was a singer. Myself and my partner just took a deck of cards. No issues
The drinks - I’ll be honest, I had 1 alcoholic drink the entire holiday. So I really cannot comment. My only whinge with this was…Other than water, fruit juice, or fizzy they didn’t do cordial, my children aren’t allowed fizzy (nor would they drink it if offered and my fussy bab didn’t like fruit juice) it wasn’t that much of in issue though, we popped to the shop and bought a bottle of cordial for her.
My girls met some really lovely children and made some lovely friendships (so if you do see this post I just want to thank you for making my girls holiday so special) a family sat with my girls and played (and taught them UNO) another lovely family bought my eldest a friendship bracelet on the day they left 🥹❤️ We really did meet some lovely families, couples and people and you really did make our holiday what it was (I’m just sorry I didn’t get anyone’s names!)
Overall; we had an absolutely amazing family holiday. I would definitely recommend the hotel, and we would definitely revisit again! So please, if you’re like me and absolutely freak when reading the reviews, go with an open mind because I really was pleasantly surprised! All I can honestly say is; if you want 5*, book a 5*. But for what we paid, we got a lot more than what we expected ❤️
Great week at this hotel. Rooms are a bit dated and no air conditioning which was probably the only negative. Rooms were cleaned daily and the staff were all great. One of the entertainment crew called Ikea was amazing. The food was quite similar every day but was very good. Bad reviews on here but for the money, it was great 👍
For the price we paid, our stay at Elba Lucía was absolutely excellent, and we honestly don't understand some of the negative reviews.
Our room was cleaned every day and everything was always kept tidy and comfortable. The food was very tasty and the chefs did a great job. The selection isn't huge, but everything we tried was fresh and enjoyable.
However, what really made our holiday special was the staff. They were absolutely amazing – friendly, welcoming, patient and genuinely kind. Our son is autistic and usually hardly speaks or interacts with strangers. At the beginning of our stay he was very shy, but by the end of the holiday he was happily giving high fives to the waiters and the entertainment staff. For us as parents, seeing him feel so comfortable and accepted meant more than I can put into words. ❤️
The staff really are the heart of this hotel. Everyone made us feel welcome and they created such a relaxed and friendly atmosphere throughout our stay. Even if the hotel itself has a few areas that could be improved, the wonderful people working there more than make up for it.
We all had an amazing time and genuinely enjoyed our stay at Elba Lucía. We left with lovely memories and would happily come back again.
A huge thank you to all the staff for making our family holiday so special. You are what makes this place wonderful! ❤️
