Riu Nautilus

Wow! the refurbishment was amazing the shower was the most powerful shower I have ever had. The food was good before but even better now and i am so fussy but there was a lot of choice so i didnt have to have chips every night.This was our 4th visit nothing negative to say all the staff work incredible hard but a special shout out to Romy on reception who is so helpful and lovely, Olesya who always has a smile on her face works so hard and lastly Jaiver who greets you in the restaurant with a happy smiley face. Thank you for another great holiday.

Just returned from a week at the Nautilus. First of all, the location is perfect. 15/20 minute taxi from AGP airport. Right on the beach at Torremolinos/Benalmadena. The hotel itself is... stunning.

The referb has done wonders to this place, the decor is classy and the rooms are so lovely. Not a paint chip to be seen. I really loved our room, it was spacious and cleaned perfectly each day. However, our air con never got lower than 22.5 degrees, despite trying to set it at 16 degrees every single day. It was ok. Any warmer would've been an issue I feel, thankful for the ceiling fan. Our room had a smart tv which we loved, however our Netflix rarely worked due to the hotel using a VPN (I think?!) so we weren't able to use it properly sadly.

The public areas at the hotel are great - the sun beds are a little close together and you do get a lot of people putting their towels down verrrryyyy early in the morning (5:30-6am). However, you will manage to find something if you're not fussy about being directly by the pool. I found the service to be good - nothing to write home about, but decent enough. I felt as though there were a lack of staff around the pool during the daytime, but nothing major.

Unfortunately on one occasion we did find that raw chicken had been put out at the buffet which was extremely off putting. We mentioned it to one of the cooks there and then who removed the raw chicken from the tray but didn't seem to be too concerned by it. We were then very careful about what we ate. However, the standard of the food overall is good. Better than an average buffet.

One day, we did find an unidentified strange object in the pool that looked quite suspicious. We did ask three different members of staff to remove it or inspect it (as it did look suspicious) and not much was done for about an hour. I ended up removing it myself and it looked like a personal sanitary product - gross. Was not impressed at all by this, but someone did eventually come along to inspect - just a little too late.

There was entertainment at the hotel each night, which varied from pianists, violinists, singers, etc.

We really enjoyed our week at the Nautilus. Just a few picky things that I feel could've been dealt with better, but nothing that ruined our stay. Wouldn't stay again, but will continue to stay at other RIU hotels as I love the brand!
