The most disappointing hotel experience I have ever had
I am writing this review because what happened to me at Hard Rock Hotel Marbella on July 17, 2026 was completely unacceptable.
I made my reservation more than a month before my trip, and I had a fully confirmed and complete booking. I have all the documentation and evidence to prove this, including my original booking confirmation and the details of the reservation.
Despite this, when I arrived at the hotel with my family and children, I was told at reception that they could only find one room under my name, instead of the accommodation I had confirmed. Rather than taking responsibility for the situation or making a genuine effort to find a solution, I was refused check-in and, unbelievably, was told by the reception staff:
“Go find another hotel.”
Imagine arriving at a hotel with your family after traveling, with a confirmed reservation that you made more than a month in advance, and being told to simply leave and find somewhere else.
I had carefully planned my trip and booked in advance specifically to secure the right accommodation and a reasonable price. Because of this situation, I was suddenly forced t o search for another hotel at the last minute while traveling with children, with the possibility of paying substantially more — all because of an issue on the hotel’s side.
What was most disappointing was not simply the booking problem itself, but the complete lack of willingness to help. Instead of trying to resolve the situation, I was essentially told that it was my problem. Eventually, I was told to cancel my reservation and that I would receive a refund.
A refund does not make up for the inconvenience, stress, lost time, disruption to a family holiday, or any additional costs caused by having to find alternative accommodation at the last minute.
I would also like to mention the reception staff Xavi and Anabel specifically. Unfortunately, their handling of the situation was extremely unhelpful, and I did not feel that either of them made a genuine effort to assist me or find an appropriate solution.
I want to make it clear that I have complete documentation and evidence supporting my account of what happened, including proof that my reservation was confirmed and complete.
Hotels can make mistakes. What matters is how they handle those mistakes. In my case, I was left to deal with the consequences of a hotel-side problem with my family and children, despite having done everything correctly as a guest.
This was, without a doubt, the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I would strongly encourage anyone considering staying here to think carefully about how they would feel if something went wrong with their reservation and the hotel simply told them to find somewhere else.
A huge disappointment. I have often stayed at this hotel, which I am particularly fond of. Regarding the room: my bathroom wasn't really clean, and my bed was very poorly made. I pointed this out after the first night, yet nothing was rectified the following night—or the time after that.My bed was actually made very poorly—it’s the first time in my life I’ve ever seen anything like it (see the photo of the bed just as I was getting ready to sleep, as well as the blood-stained bath towel I found in the bathroom). There was no "Do Not Disturb" sign in my room, so I asked for one the next day; however, when I returned that evening, they still hadn't brought it, so I had to make one by hand myself (see photo). Some staff members were unfriendly; they often forget that they work in a field where hospitality, service, and—above all—friendliness are crucial, since we are here for a vacation and, in a way, for a bit of happiness and escapism. The hotel is in a wonderful location and the setting is beautiful—which is why I love coming back—but this time, I am truly disappointed.
Got to leave a big thank you to Tyler and his VIP Guest Services team at the Hard Rock Marbella

Bouchta was very nice and made really good food for us. Thank you Bouchta
Not a nice place, my deposit hasn't been returned in the last 10 days, I was supposed to pay 1 cent and pay as you go but the knet machine didn't accept so I paid 375 euros which hasn't been returned until now. The restaurant pool staff were rude to the people next to me. Took them 3 people and 1 hour to get the lady a glass of water and they swore in front of me, called her a liar. I didn't like the breakfast, very basic. Saw a hair on a fried egg, I didn't spend much time in the hotel, the sink in the toilet was too big for me to reach for the water to wash my face. Honestly who designed & chose the sink must be a very big tall person. Not coming back.
