Thank you for a wonderful stay. We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel , in particular as there were major roadworks right outside the door of the hotel whilst we were there. We had a superior room, and it was amazing , tea and coffee facilities, tv with all channels , fridge and a wonderful bathroom, we could not fault it. The breakfast was buffet style , hot and cold food available , scrambled egg and bacon and it was constantly replenished ,fresh fruit , juices, cereal , boiled eggs , pastries , everything you could possibly want for breakfast and coffee was really good . Gluten free food available too. Thank you to Javier at reception for all your help. Staff were really amazing . This hotel has a wonderful roof terrace with bar and a swimming pool , with lots of very comfortable seating and umbrellas , with a wonderful view of the mountains and the Plaza de Espana. The hotel is right next to the El Salvador Church and the Balcon de Europa. There are lots of restaurants, ice cream shops and shopping right on the doorstep. We loved this hotel so much, we booked for next year before we left.
The hotel its self is still of very good standard but this review is of my visit this time and a warning to those coming shortly because the hotel management probably wont tell you. When we arrives we were faced with a very tight walkway into the hotel due to the road/path outside been totally dug up. For our whole ten nights we have constantly had to listen to jackhammers and drilling from between 9am and 4pm. An email off the hotel owners warning of these issues would have been appropriate and maybe given people the chance to look elsewhere. The works are not the hotels fault but it is our holiday. Also recently a new bar area has taken over the whole of one side where sunbeds used to be used. This has now caused the joy of people queueing at 8.30 in the morning th guarantee a bed. Ridiculous. Also a sign needs putting up stating if you leave your sunbed for more than an hour towels may be removed as many patrons thought it was reasonable to leave them at 1pm and return at 5. Oversll still a nice hotel but more care from the owners needed. With price rises esculating we feel they are now after a different demographic of patrons.
The hotel is located at the perfect spot near Plaza de Espana and the Balcony of Europe. Many restaurants, bars and shops just around the corner as well as the beach. Since it's located at a small side street, the noise from outside is limited.
We were warmly welcomed by Javier, he was very helpfull and had many great tips throughout our stay.
The room we had was spacious and nicely decorated. The bathroom was spacious as well and had all the necessary amenities.
Actually the whole hotel is nicely decorated, well maintained, every level has a small green outdoor space to relax. On the third floor there is a nice swimming pool, not too big but enough to cool down and there are plenty sunbeds available. Do not forget to visit and drink something at the rooftopbar, located near the swimmingpool. Very nice spot!
The breakfast is okay and has enough variety for a three star hotel.
Great hotel, great value for your money. Personally I would rate it a three star +. Definitely will come back.
Booked for 4 nights to re-visit where my late parents happily retired to for 25 years in Nerja. The welcome at hotel reception on our arrival set the scene last week; genuine warm, efficient friendly. Our room (214) superior double second floor with views to mountains and so peaceful, very well equipped including small fridge, table, chair and spacious - with a comfortable and very large bed! The roof top pool, chairs, toilets showers and loungers and bar was the icing on the cake - breakfast bar provided everything you could wish for . Just 100 metres from the Balcon - yet a quiet oasis of comfort. The cleanliness of public areas and room deserves special mention - impecable. This is a hotel which prides itself on delivery of the highest standards in every aspect - we cannot think of any improvements and WILL be booking and returning again and again ! thank you for making this visit so special and memorable - for all the right reasons !
