Need to try harder
Hotel clean and quiet but dated. Breakfast dreadful. Chilled orange squash and pastries sitting on a bed of grease. We used supermarket next door. Staff uninterested and avoid eye contact for fear of being asked for help. Seem oblivious to the fact that we had been saving all year to spend a few days in their beautiful country. Pool/sun terrace a no-go area due to extensive building work taking place close by. Hard to relax with incessant noise and feeling of being watched by workmen. You’ll need suitable footwear for 20-minute hike to Nerja and Burriana beach. It’s all uphill on the way back. In my 50 years of visiting my beloved Spain it was the first time I had come across a hotel bar that closed at 10.30!
Clean, dated and apathetic
The hotel was clean and quiet but a little dated.
If you’re looking for fresh orange juice and fluffy enseimadas for breakfast, this isn’t the place for you. You’ll get a chilled jug of orange squash and some cold pastries sitting on a bed of grease. Most mornings we had to buy our breakfast from the supermarket next door.
Which is strange when you consider that the area has a proud fruit-growing history and also that there are some wonderful bakeries not too far away.
Most of the staff looked bored and uninterested, obviously oblivious to the fact that many of us had been working hard all year to save for a few days in their beautuful country.
The sun terrace/pool area was a no-go zone during our stay due to extensive building work being carried out right next door. With the incessant noise and constant feeling of being watched, it felt uncomfortable to spend any time chilling by the pool.
You’ll need sensible footwear for the 20-minute walk into Nerja and the nearest beach at Burriana. Also be warned that the return trek is uphill!
If you’re just looking for a base to stay while visiting Nerja, the Loc Arcos does the job. But if you’re seeking a little more from your hotel, don’t bother.
In my 50 years of visiting Spain, I had never come across a hotel bar that closed at 10.30!

Excellent hotel for daytime relaxing.
We stayed in this hotel last year and loved the peaceful relaxed atmosphere around the pool area so we decided to return again this year. We were given room 112 which has a fabulous balcony with access to the pool area. However, unbeknownst to us there is building work going on right next to the room and we were awakened at 7am with loud banging. We spoke to the manager and he moved us straight away to the room furthest from this, room 201 which made a massive difference to our experience. Pool area was never busy and beds very easy to come by. Happy hour now from 5pm to 8pm. 20 to 30 minute walk to town or beach but we knew this and it wasn't a problem for us. We didn't stay around in the evenings as there was very little atmosphere or entertainment. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, especially house keeping.

A great base for seen Nerja
We booked a few rooms, the rooms were surprisingly very nice and spacious with lovely outdoor balconies with a gorgeous view. There’s a fridge in the rooms which is handy for drinks and snacks
Breakfast was disappointing, they should probably get rid of half of the items they have on offer and invest in better quality items, even frozen pastries done in the oven every day would make a huge difference to the breakfast dining experience.
A lot of the food had ants on the food trays and I don’t think there’s any excuse for that.
The hotel doesn’t have much parking spaces in the front so be mindful of that, but on a positive note the hotel is within walking distance of the beach and town - it took us about 20/25 minutes to walk in.
