Located at the heart of a golf course, directly beside a lake, this luxury hotel lies some 5 km from the centre of Marbella where there are many shopping and entertainment venues just waiting to be explored. The nearest beach is about 1 km away and shops, bars and restaurants are about 3 km away.
Built in 2001, this golfing hotel lies along a main road comprises a 3-floor main building as well as several 2-storey annexe blocks with a total of 30 double rooms and 3 suites. Facilities include a foyer with a 24-hour reception desk, lifts, a cloakroom, safes and shops. In addition, there is a bar, a café, an air-conditioned restaurant with highchairs for infants, a public Internet terminal (additional fee apply) and a conference room available for use. Those arriving by car may take advantage of the car park or garage facilities and laundry, room and medical services round off the facilities.
The luxurious rooms and suites come with an en suite bathroom with a hairdryer, a minibar/ fridge, a hire safe, a direct dial telephone, Internet access, satellite/cable TV, a separate lounge and a balcony or terrace. Furthermore, the suites also feature a Jacuzzi.
In the outdoor complex is a freshwater swimming pool as well as a sun terrace with sun loungers and parasols and a pool bar. Guests may relax in the Jacuzzi and guest may take advantage of the 18-hole golf course that surrounds the hotel.
Guests may select their breakfast from an ample buffet; lunch and dinner may be taken à la carte.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

This is a wonderful golf course with very helpful staff and a course in great condition. Will definitely be back and my family guests were really pleased with the course.
Course is superb. Greens very speedy. Bunkers have soft sand unlike some other courses that have hard grit. I will be back every time I visit Costa del Sol.
We had a great time on the golf course, fabulous condition. The bar and surrounding were excellent too. All in all a tremendous golfing experience .
Great golf course and friendly staff and the course is not to tough for the below average golfer like myself.
We booked a round of golf in Rio Real's website. They have a calendar showing discounts available for each day. We picked the lowest price. We got teetime and payment confirmations by email. When we arrived at caddie master's desk, we were told that we can only play back nine, but we can do it twice to get "a full round". When we asked why this was not told when booking, they claimed that the ongoing maintenance work was informed in the booking page. I decided to check that with my mobile phone and it appeared that no information regarding the maintenance work was there. Then they said that it is said when using computer (not mobile phone). I couldn't check that there, but I'm pretty sure that wasn't the case.
They were willing to refund our payment, but in case you have already arrived to the golf course and want to play golf, there is no real option available anymore (our teetime was 16.20 Twilight). We are very disappointed the way Rio Real staff handled the case. They just appealed that we should have understood the ongoing maintenance work by the discounted price. We played Rio Real in last January too and that time the price was roughly the same but no maintenance work. So we don't see how the maintenance work should have been understood just by the price. We have played golf 30 years in Costa Del Sol and it is common that low season and certain days of the week (we played on Monday) you get discounts. So only based on price, you cannot know if there is maintenance work ongoing or not. They should put maintenance work in booking calendar so it is clearly marked and also when making your reservation you should be notified if any special things to consider. And also confirmation emails should highlight any deviations from standard service.
