The hotel enjoys a charming architectural design, inviting guests into the relaxing surroundings of the interior. Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Decided to stay the night in Marbella rather and opted to book this hotel as it had available check in till 23:00. By time i received conformation it was 00:01 due to this i was unable to check in that night as it was now the next day!!! Several times i called the receptionist manager who was extremely rude and unhelpful. He cancelled my booking, charged me for both nights stay and refused to let me check in the next day. So not only did Ona Marbella take my 2 nights stay payment they charged me a cancellation fee. You should be ashamed.
We staude one week. Very nice room. Big room with a small kitchen and a balcony with city view. The room was cleaned and bed made every day. New towels.
Swimmingpool area was a bit runned down but otherwise very nice roof pool.
All people we met that was working at the hotel was fantastic
Highly recommend this hotel
I booked this hotel based on trip advisor reviews however found it to be to a much lower standard than expected. The hotel is generally old and worn, the lifts are like somthing from the 1960s with heavy metal manual doors. The pool area is very poor with very little space around the small pool with rickety steps to get in or out and an obvious scum line around the pool water line which does not look like it has been deep cleaned for a long time. The room itself was relatively clean with a small balcony, the bed and pillows were below average and air conditioning was poor/tempermental and also aged. Staff were relatively pleasent however I would not stay here again.
Seems like not a bad budget option and it’s well located for everything such as old town, Main Street, parks and Beach and cafés and restaurants, but definitely not if you’re disabled.
It’s located on a really steep hill and there are steps up to the entrance and the ramp is too steep to be safe - I was told it was designed for suitcases not wheelchairs
It doesn’t tell you on any sites I looked at but you can’t get to the rooftop pool as the lift doesn’t go all the way up to the rooftop level so you have to walk some of the way using stairs.
The shower tray was extra slippery, so despite the handrail, I slipped badly And got to really quite bad injuries
Most of the staff are really lovely and helpful and the cleaning is pretty good except the evening staff not so helpful or cheerful.
The rooms are kept clean but very basic and a bit depressing all grey and balconies facing a load of other apartments
A lot of traffic noise
Never made it to breakfast or the coffee bar so I don’t know what that’s like
This is the second time I stayed here the first with a friend this time solo.
There were a few issues. No kettle in room though part of the advertised self catering kitchen, I had to ask for this, and no washing up cloth/sponge or liquid. My door card stopped working the day before departure and I had to get it re enabled. The cleaning was average with not much sign of any kitchen areas being wiped down and the floors sort of cleaned but for example there were hairs inside the legs of one bedside table the whole week. So average cleaning..it was great they changed the towels and sheets on demand and the cleaner was lovely very polite and accommodating. I did not feel like asking her for the washing up stuff it's minor and the floor thing also not major but I like to give honest review in case this is something that would be important to you. I did ask for a kettle as was definitely a lacking item and I did not want to be accused of stealing one when there was not one there to begin with. They gave a brand new one which of course meant I had to boil it a couple of times to clean it but was great.
The area of the hotel is superb for shopping and the old town and the beach and the old castle.
I love this part of Spain the people are friendly there's no unsafe feeling even as a woman alone and very little sign of stray animals. A few beggars but name anywhere without them.
The best bakery for bread / pastries is masa viva round the corner only 1.20 for a baguette simple. Not open Sunday at time of writing but open till about 8pm all other days. Carrefour is a couple minutes walk and there are mercadona not too far to walk or get a bus they are cheap I used cash it's 1.18 to the Lidl here each way.
Finally the man on the desk Salvatore Jose I think was his name was very helpful about places to shop and Spanish food information and very friendly, warm and polite.
