A hotel on the shores of the Mediterranean, located on the beachfront,ideally located just 25 minutes away from Malaga airport and 77.4 km from Gibraltar airport. In addition it is very well connected to all the main tourist attractions and leisure facilities, such as Costa Water Park. Most of our rooms have fantastic sea views and are completely refurbished. In the very heart of the Costa del Sol, the Occidental Fuengirola offers a unique experience in the perfect setting for enjoying your free time and a variety of activities. The location next to the seafront promenade, and city centre, provides easy access to shops, restaurants, bars, and supermarkets.The hotel has three dining areas that provide different options throughout the day. There is also a heated swimming pool perfect for taking a dip at any time of the year.

Delighted with our stay
We had a great 14 night stay. Train from airport is €2.70 and taxi from train station less than €10. We had checked in online before arriving. Reception staff friendly and helpful. We were a little too early to get room keys- but we just went to the bar for a drink. Nice outdoor bar- located just before entering pool area. There is also a separate pool bar. Pool towels are available- €10 refundable deposit- they can be changed every 3 days.
We had a deluxe room on the 9th floor. Our room was spacious - nice balcony with morning sun. Not a lot of wardrobe space- but we managed. Bathroom had good walk in rainfall shower. Wall dispensers- shower gel, shampoo etc. Fridge and safe in room. We never had to wait too long for the lifts.
Hotel is spotless. Lots of seating areas. There is a little clothing/ gift shop.
Breakfast is great with something to suit everyone. Hot food includes an omelette station, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausages, mushrooms, potato, etc. Lots of fresh fruit (included melon, kiwi, pineapple etc), cheeses, cold meats, pate. salad items, cereals, bread, juices, pastries. Cava if you wish. Plenty of tables with some outside. Plenty coffee/tea machines.
We did not use the pool - we preferred the beach across the road- 2 beds and umbrella €16- same price all along the beach. Beds by pool were very close together- big groups there at times especially in the afternoon. Pool opens at 10- and a small queue build up.
We did have drinks at the outside bar/ restaurant. Would be great if hotel insisted on shirts being worn at this bar and also when walking through hotel and in the lifts.
Big golf hotel- but that did not interfere with us. There were a few large groups who came back in the afternoon and could be very loud at pool/ bar area.
Nice location- 10 minute walk to Miramar shopping centre in one direction and the old town in the other. Dozens of restaurants/bars to choose from. We had some lovely meals- separately reviewed. Nice little bars around hotel. Lots of shops selling beach items- supermarket about a 5 minute walk.
We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.

Lovely stay
Booked through Jet2 but picked the hotel as stay frequently at another Barcelo group hotel. The location is great for the beach and the staff very friendly and helpful.

Great for short stay
Great for short stay in the area,near restaurants and beach. Area is quiet and not noisy rooms are nice and clean with a comfy bed.

Totally brilliant.
The hotel,staff,rooms, location, meals,etc were 1st class. We had a excellent time, definitely recommend this hotel. Hopefully see u again.
Perfect place
Location is perfect, it’s just outside the center so not so much noice at night. The staff is amazing, specially the cleaningladies were so sweet. Breakfast was really good, poolarea nice and we would really recommend this hotel for a stay!
