Overlooking the picturesque harbour and 200 meters from the beach, Las Palmeras Affiliated by Fergus enjoys a privileged position in Fuengirola, right in the heart of the Costa del Sol. In this delightful location guests can truly relax and enjoy all that the hotel has to offer. Whilst the hotel's evening entertainment is just as impressive, sampling the local colour and life couldn't be easier with plenty to see and do in the surrounding area.
Just got back from las palmeros 30/6/26 wen we arrived we had been given a free room upgrade with sea view great (i thought )room 425 had a nice view of marina but opposite the pubs n nighrclubs went on till 6am every day shouting screaming music cars hooting horns no sleep even with door closed bed was sooo hard deffo needs s refurb shabby carpets really dated breakie was cold snotty eggs sumthing wat slightly resembled bacon staff are robotic never greet you overall i would not go again reception very polite
We have recently returned from a pleasant 6 night stay at this hotel. The reception area is pleasant, bright and airy and in good decor. On arrival we were allocated room 482 which we were initially disappointed with but decided to keep. It overlooked a carpark with no particular view but we were told it was the quiet end of the hotel which is true. We had no problem with noise at all. The hotel is very much in need of a refurbishment. It is very shabby in some areas. On levels 3 and 4 in the corridor there are areas of thread bare carpets and paint and plaster peeling off the walls. The rooms are extremely clean but could benefit from a lick of paint . It was cleaned daily with fresh linen and towels also daily. (have never known a toilet to flush for quite so long in all my life though). Our room had a fridge and satisfactory air con. No kettle but having watched a YouTube video before we went, we took our own travel kettle and tea bags. The balcony had no light for evening reading and no airer to hang swim wear or damp towels. The pool is serviceable and is a pleasant area to sit and relax with a fair amount of sunloungers and parasols but is also a bit tatty. Good to take headphones because the music is on a loop. The restaurant was good. Lots of variety and we enjoyed the food. We took our own prepared cups of tea to breakfast and dinner. No hot drinks available at dinner and no teabags to our taste at breakfast. With breakfast there was fruit juice, apple, pineapple and orange juice, milk water and hot drinks from a machine. At Lunch and dinner there was water and red, white and rose wine. We thought all the staff were pleasant. The staff in the restaurant all work extremely hard to clear tables and keep the aea clean and replenished. Connor who led the entertainment around the pool and some evening entertainment is a very nice approachable chap and worked hard to include everyone. Well done Connor! Definitely value for money. I should mention that probably if a refurbishment was to be undertaken then the prices would definitely reflect that. We will certainly try and go back. It is 5 minutes walk from Fuengirola rail station and bus station. In a prime location. Very near the beach and with bars, shops and coffee stops on the doorstep.
Our experience at Las Palmeras was so disappointing that we decided to leave and book another hotel just two hours after checking in.
The first warning sign came at reception, where we witnessed two guests complaining about the cleanliness and facilities. Their concerns appeared to be dismissed, which immediately gave us little confidence in the hotel.
Unfortunately, our own experience reflected this. As soon as we entered our room, we found long black hairs in the bed, shower, sink and on the floor, along with black mould in the bathroom. The room clearly had not been cleaned to an acceptable standard. We also discovered the air conditioning was not working despite it being advertised. After looking at previous guest reviews, we noticed multiple people had reported the same issue, which suggests it has not been properly addressed.
The hotel itself feels extremely dated and in desperate need of refurbishment. The pool area was disappointing, with visible grime around the edges and nowhere near enough sun loungers for the number of guests.
What disappointed us most was the lack of customer service. When we informed reception that we were checking out, no one asked why we were leaving or made any attempt to resolve our concerns. The response felt completely indifferent.
Overall, the hotel did not reflect the standard advertised online. We ended up spending more money to move elsewhere rather than stay for the rest of our holiday. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this hotel and would encourage others to consider more modern alternatives.

Where do I start? The rooms are so basic that a prison cell would feel better equipped. No kettle, no safe, and absolutely no sign of the comforts you’d expect from a hotel in 2026.
As a family of four, we were given what appeared to be four mattresses pushed together and called a family bed. Awkward, uncomfortable, and far from practical.
The whole place feels stuck several decades in the past. It genuinely looks like someone started renovating, slapped some filler on the walls, realised the scale of the job, and simply gave up. The rooms need stripping back to brick and starting again.
The family entertainment was practically non-existent. I’ve seen more interaction and excitement at a bus stop on a rainy Monday afternoon. On some nights, watching the paint dry on the walls would have been the headline act.
The photos and reality are worlds apart. If you’re expecting a modern, comfortable stay, prepare to be disappointed.
Would I return? Not unless every other hotel on the island was fully booked.
Perfect location.very friendly staff and maids
