This superb beach hotel enjoys a frontline setting in the bustling resort town of Fuengirola. The hotel is perfectly situated just beside the beautiful sandy beach and is within easy walking distance of the shops, restaurants, bars and entertainment venues the town has to offer. Malaga airport is conveniently set just 20 km away from the hotel. Business and leisure guests will be able to take advantage of the venues to host meetings and other private events. For a sunny day, the outdoor pool area has sunbeds, parasols and an incredible pool to dip in. All visitors will be impressed by the culinary delights the restaurant has to offer. The rooms are beautifully appointed and well equipped with all the needed amenities to have the best experience.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
————————————————————————————————
We had lunch here with a group of friends before a concert at Marenostrum, at Sohail Beach Club. The venue is beautiful, with a DJ creating a great atmosphere. Every dish we tried was delicious, and the prices offered excellent value for money. What really stood out, however, was the outstanding service from the staff, especially one waitress whose name I unfortunately can't remember. I do know she is from Bolivia. She was absolutely lovely-kind, professional, and genuinely welcoming. I wish there were more people like her working in hospitality. She truly deserves a 10/10. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would definitely recommend this place.
Stayed here end of June with some friends. I was surprised to find there were no tea / coffee facilities, that should be basic for a 4 star hotel. No iron, so had to buy an iron. In the replies to other guests who raised this point, the hotel say they provide a laundry service but conveniently and inexplicably omit the fact that it costs €4 euro per item! Hotel looks dated and in my opinion is in need of refurbishment. Pools were very good, staff pleasant enough. The poolside bar did the usual rip off tactic for a large beer, stopped pouring about 2 inches from the top of the plastic glass and the rest was froth....mmmm..we're not silly. No bars near to the hotel to pop out to, the location is not ideal, it's a good 10 minute walk to get to various bars for breakfast. So the stay was average, nothing disasterous, would I book again...no I wouldn't.
We stayed at this hotel last year and went again early July this year (2026). The first time was much better. This time we were in a ground floor room in the building overlooking the pool. if you are allocated a room that starts 4001 maybe up to at least 4008 then you need to request a different room, you WILL be disturbed every night as everyone in that building has to walk past your room. The corridor has a tiled floor and everything echoes, you will hear every word said, every foot step and the wheels of every suitcase as they clack and click over the tiles at all times of the day and night, you have been warned!
Also, the aircon could only be used on low as it rattled loudly on any other speed. We had to get maintenance in to fix the shower head as it drooped. There is no kettle/tea/coffee making facilities in the room unless you pay an extra 10 euros and then wait 24 hours for a kettle to be found. The cups and glasses were only cleaned once in a week and the 'complementary' water is not replenished so you only get two small cartons for the week.
On our last day we came back from the beach to find our room door open, who knows how long it had been left open as we went out at 10:30am and didn't return until 6:30pm. As I've said, every guest in that building would have walked past our room, luckily nothing had been taken from our room and as it was our last day and we were leaving at 7:30 am the next day we never bothered to say anything.
There is a safety deposit box in the wardrobe but it is not fixed to anything so it could just be picked up and taken away.
The spa was closed for refurbishment when we stayed, poor choice of timing to close it in the height of the season rather than over winter but there you go. We did however use it last year and I would recommend a visit.
Generally the hotel was clean and staff were friendly and helpful and in our opinion it is in a good location with places to eat a pleasant 10 minute walk away. We would recommend staying at the hotel but definitely not on the ground floor of the building we stayed in.
We would recommend Mezzanotte restaurant especially if you are vegan and Coriander restaurant though not advertised as vegan will make vegan options on request, the veg paella being one of our favourites.
This was my 12th visit to the IPV and my wife's 6th time ( I regularly make an October visit with a friend for a last dose of sunshine). We choose the ground floor Ronda rooms for the easy access to the pool and the beach as we both enjoy swimming in the great pool and in my case in the sea as well. I have to say that I don't recognise the scenario from a recent comment regarding noise. we have only once been disturbed (two years ago) and the issue was dealt with quickly by the hotel and the table tennis table where the late night gathering took place has since been removed. We were in 4009 and had undisturbed sleep every night. We enjoyed our visit very much. Our room was ready on arrival at 1130 which was a great start. This is one of our very favourite hotels. The location at the quieter Sohail end of Fuengirola, the staff and the rooms are all excellent. We thought that the evening buffet was even better than usual this time with the themed buffets in the outside area a nice additional touch. The room was (as usual) spotlessly clean and the beds very comfortable. We asked for a kettle which was provided immediately and the small fridge kept our day time drinks nice and cool. Charging for the 10 euros for the kettle was the only minor gripe - it has always been free on request in the past and I have never come across a charge anywhere else. I am prompted to write this review by the note I made of hotel staff to particularly praise, but all of the staff are friendly and helpful. Well done in particular to Miriam (for help with booking the ground floor Ronda rooms) Alberto, Victoria, Orlando, Charifa, Jose-Andre, and Diego and my apologies to everyone who I have missed out. I look forward to my next visit in October.
Good location, great breakfast and very clean rooms. However, the hotel could benefit from a general refurbishment to get updated to modern standards and designs.
The main reason for this somewhat negative review is the self inflicted noice and disturbance.
Marketed as “recommended for adults” and located in the quiet end of town, we were expecting a peaceful a relaxing setting around the pool. Instead we got meaningless “animation” with yelling, loud music and endless disturbance. I guess that less than 15 people participated in the activities like water aerobics.
I would prefer kids playing over this “animation” anytime and do not plan to return!
