Fuengirola

This apartment complex is located next to a shopping centre and Sohail castle, just 1.5 kilometres away from Fuengirola and only 350 metres from the nearest beach. The airport is about 15-minute drive away. At a walking distance, guests will find a big variety of restaurants, cafes, bars and entertainment venues. The wonderful outdoor pool area is perfect for the ones wanting to work on their tan, relax on a sunbed or have a refreshing swim. The restaurant offers delicious food and the bar tasty drinks along with an agreeable atmosphere. The rooms are equipped with cosy beds and all the essential amenities needed for a great experience. They have been nicely decorated with a combination of light and warm colours to make travellers feel welcomed.

Gem of a hotel

Fuengirola beach is a great hotel for families, the staff are all so nice and make it fun for the kids. Great pool. The staff in the pool bar and restaurant are second to none (Pilar so lovely)they seem to work long hours and always serve with a smile on their faces. Food very good at hotel and big portions for decent prices. Beach across the road and short walk under bridge - ideal. Rooms kept clean and hotel spotless. Mijas water park 20 minute walk as is BioParc. Mijas Peublo (must see) village in the mountain - 20 euro in a taxi. Massive shopping centre on your doorstep- designer shops to primark and food store with fresh breads, fruits, meats etc - Would def return

Bags queuing for pool!!!

This review is solely about pool queuing. This is a lovely hotel with wonderful staff, but something bizarre happens in July and August.

We have never stayed at a hotel before where people think it is acceptable to leave their bags unattended to hold their place in the queue.

The pool opens at 10am. The pool is behind a locked gate.

In May and June when we have visited the hotel, people queue, in person, for the pool to be opened. In July and August, this is not the case!

There are signs telling guests that that they must not leave their bags to hold their place in the queue.

People begin leaving their bags outside the locked pool gate at around 11pm when they have finished their evening!

So, if you want to queue, in person from around 9.30am, you will be met with 30 - 40 bags all lined up in a row with no one stood beside them. The people who leave these bags expect you to queue behind them in person!

I have seen many people decide that they won't stand in an invisible line to queue for the pool gate to open so start a 'human' queue. This meant that those who began the 'bag queue' the night before at 11pm were disappointed each morning to find that they weren't first in line.

Staff have been advised that guests queue with unattended bags and it is met with a shrug. So the sign on the pool gate advising against bag leaving may as well be removed. It is completely pointless.

As if people are going to queue in person behind a row of unattended bags on the floor 🤣

Still here and love it

Have been coming here on and off for some years now. This is our first year coming during peak season in end of July and it is surprising how easy it is to get a sunbed and how well behaved people are, you can tell most are British families. The new place your bag lined up to queue for the pool sunbeds is a great idea and surprisingly it works. People respect the line of bags.

The apartment itself could do with a refurbishment but it is perfect with everything you need. Plates, kettle, coffee maker, toaster, cloths etc etc, everything you would need for your stay. Rooms are cleaned every 2 days, with change of towels, sheets etc. The air con works very well, actually quite cold at night.

The pool is great, packed with sunbeds and sun umbrellas There is a pool side bar and restaurant for lunch.

The best thing for us is the proximity to the shopping centre(3 mins walk) and how close (10 mins walk) to the beach front restaurants. Some are lovely. We have lunch in room everyday, sometimes burgers other times kfc etc.Dinner out every night paying under 70 euros most nights for 4 of us, and eating quality food.

There is a helpful group on Facebook That has info and advice about this hotel Fuengirola Beach Apartments Info/advice which you can join to get restaurant advice.

We will return that's 100% certain

Great hotel

Another great stay. 2nd time at the FB and it was even better this time. The hotel staff are all brilliant from bar staff to animation team. Alba & jimena were great at the bar and always had time for the kids and adults and always very helpful and pleasant. This hotel is perfect for families. Snack bar food is pretty good and very reasonably priced.

Recommended, overall positive experience

We stayed here for 8 nights in early /mid July - overall very positive experience. The rooms and communal areas are all spotlessly clean, beds are comfortable and mattresses look fairly new. Bedding and towels all clean and changed regularly. Pool towels for rent are a good addition, and are also clean and in good condition. Self catering facilities are adequate - we didn't cook at all in the time we were here, just used the fridge and crockery etc for snacks during the day and ate out the rest of the time. Kitchen could do with washing up liquid, soap and cleaning spray and wipes etc to keep plates, cutlery and surfaces clean. A dustpan and brush would be useful too, for cleaning crumbs from the floor, as well as sand.

Sunbeds usually available at any time of the day, especially the weekend, and all very clean and looked new enough. Pool bar and lobby bar both pleasant areas to relax in, though the lobby bar could be noisy at night especially as it stayed open until 1am or so. Just depends on who's there at the time. Our apartment was directly above the lobby bar overlooking the pool. The sliding balcony doors provided adequate sound proofing to allow for sleep. Rooms were cool and dark and I had some of the best sleep I've had here.

All staff we encountered were very pleasant and friendly, and responded promptly to any requests. The air con in the apartment above us leaked through to our apartment on our last day, and this was dealt with quickly. On a few occasions some staff mistook us saying 'two' for 'three' and we were served three pints or three portions of fries, etc, when we'd actually only ordered two (we even said 'dos' and indicated 'two' with our hands). They accepted their mistake each time and didn't charge us, however.

Daytime entertainment isn't our thing and could be a bit annoying at times - it was too loud at many points and necessitated some earphones in order to read or relax properly by the pool.

Location suited us perfectly, a bit out of the way of the main strip, close to a quieter section of the beach and beside a massive supermarket with everything needed for self catering. Regular bus service from the front door into the main town.

It seems it definitely depends on the time of year you come here - our stay was just before all the English normally arrive after their school holidays begin. There were a few noisy English in the last day or two of our stay so we were glad to be leaving when we did!
