The hotel was completely renovated 2013. Located 20m from the beach, 1.5 km from Fuengirola town center and 24 km from Malaga airport. It comprises a total of 9 floors with a total of 261 rooms. The train station is 20 meters away. Located 7-8km from the golf course.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Third and possibly the last time visiting this hotel. Things have changed since our last visit.
Food was poor, no taste. The salad bar was the best choice. Deserts were terrible, unset egg custards, mouse that was like drinking slime also unset. And of course the obligatory evening service"what would you like to drink?" We were accused of not paying on 2 occasions as we paid in cash which we soon paid by card to get a digital receipt from our bank, then on another occasion our bill said 6euro and our bank receipt they'd charged us 9. I was promised a manger would look into this and get back to us with an explanation but it didn't happen. we decided to enjoy our holiday as we seam to be spending more time in reception trying to resolve the issues mentioned.
The room we had was on the 9th floor, great views of the beach and the pool. Tv was modern, we didn't pay for the safe. Fridge, apparently there is still a fee for it however we didn't pay for ours. The room as a whole was in need of a refurb, aircon wasn't cooling and was never resolved, broken shelving on what I can only describe as an Ikea style open wardrobe, this was fixed 3 days after reporting.
Positives are the staff that wait in the restaurant all friendly and aimed to please. Wellbeing room with pool was nice and usually empty in the mornings.
So on this occasion I can't recommend staying here, despite our previous visits. It fell like we were unimportant this time.
Roof Top Bar. Hotel Angela ....what have you done ? Last year we used your Roof Top 365° bar on many occasions . We loved it ! The cocktails were absolutely amazing ! This year you have changed your cocktail & frozen daiquiris glasses into small martini glasses but are still charging premium prices ...some at 14€ ! We don't mind paying this for a decent size glass but Martini glasses are not for frozen daiquiris ! The daiquiris we had were also full of big clumps of ice, which were left in the glasses afterwards still ? This showed that there was hardly any actual frozen daiquiri in the glass to start with ?! Very disappointing . We always preferred your rooftop bar to the other 2 in Fuengirola for our cocktails . You used to be the Best ! 🥲
Hotel Angela is a great place to stay. Central for all shops and amenities. Rooms are clean and cleaned and totals changed regularly. The staff are all very helpful. The pool area is lovely and the evening entertainment is a bonus. Overall, lovely hotel and we would stay again.
A lovely second stay – we would return again!
This was our second visit to this hotel, and once again, it didn’t disappoint.
The location is fantastic, directly opposite the beach, with streets just behind the hotel offering a great atmosphere, with plenty of bars and restaurants to enjoy.
The staff in every department are friendly, helpful and incredibly hardworking. They really do go above and beyond to make sure you have the best possible holiday experience.
This time we stayed on a half-board basis, and we were impressed with the variety of food available. Even over a 10-day stay, there was plenty of choice and enough variety to keep things interesting. However, if you choose bed and breakfast there’s plenty of local restaurants.
The three pools — the outdoor infinity pool, indoor pool and rooftop pool — are perfect for relaxing, and we enjoyed spending a mixture of our days between the beach and the pools.
The only area I feel needs addressing is the availability of sun loungers. Unfortunately, some regular visitors seem to feel they have a permanent right to particular loungers, leaving towels on them for long periods when they are not actually being used. The hotel’s notice states that towels will be removed after one hour, but unfortunately this doesn’t appear to be consistently enforced. On occasions, loungers were left empty for up to four hours, meaning other guests were unable to find somewhere to relax.
I completely understand that people like to have their favourite spots, but enforcing the hotel’s existing one-hour towel policy would make a big difference and ensure the facilities are fair and accessible to everyone.
Aside from this, we had a fantastic holiday and this was our only real piece of feedback. We would definitely consider returning again in the future and would happily recommend the hotel to others.
There are also some great places to visit nearby. We particularly recommend taking the bus to Mijas and Marbella, an organised coach trip to Gibraltar, the train to Málaga, and the Tuesday street market, which is within walking distance of the hotel.
Overall, another lovely holiday with excellent hospitality. 😊
Both my friend and myself have visited this hotel 3 times now,im being honest felt few improvements, food certainly had improved, good variety.. warm, bedrooms could be doing with an upgrade, but overall comfortable.... very central hotel, biggest amount staff were all nice friendly, just a couple in the dinning room weren't as nice... great 10 days had by us both.
