Lovely but not as good as last time
Fundamentally I’d still describe this hotel as a very good 5* hotel. However, this was our 2nd visit in 6 months and there were a number of things that fall into the “just one of those things” category but nonetheless they do impact on your holiday and, taken together, meant this visit wasn’t as good as our last. Had this of been our first visit I’m not sure we would have booked a second.
Good points:
- Very good restaurants with excellent food for adulls and children, and great service.
- Hotel grounds well kept. Swimming pools fantastic - our 20 month old had the time of his life.
- Plenty to do - bike hire, car hire all included.
- Everywhere spotlessly clean.
- Baby cot was much better for safe sleep than the travel cot they provided last time - nice first mattress with a tight fitted sheet.
Niggly points at this visit:
- On arrival, we were asked if this was our first visit. Usually expect hotels (particularly good ones) to know when you’re a returning customer.
- Our room (garden suite) this time was much smaller and there was a big post in the middle of the bathroom which can’t be helped but was a nuisance with a toddler running around. (Previously block 6, this time block 4 - not sure if that makes a difference).
- We found lots of small pieces of glass on the bathroom floor. Someone came to clean the floor as soon as we reported it but we still found 1 or 2 bits afterwards and it made us nervous about our toddler walking around and sitting on the floor.
- There was a power cut at around 6.15pm one evening which happened to be my birthday. We had a restaurant reservation for 6.30pm and they were unable to serve hot food. We got bread and butter for our toddler and we had a starter salad, then after waiting to see if the power was coming back for an hour or so we went to the buffet to see if there was something else we could get our toddler to eat. Found much more options as they had wood fired pizza and bbq food. Overall, felt a bit like stuff were of the mindset “oh well the power cut is not our fault nothing we can do” but they could have done more to eg direct us to where food options were better, offered more cold options etc. Looking at other reviews this isn’t the first power cut so I’m just surprised there wasn’t more of a contingency plan.
All that said, I recognise the above points aren’t material in the grand scheme of things and we did still have a fantastic holiday. They’re just little niggles that when you’re spending c£1k per night on a hotel you expect slightly better and our previous visit was faultless. We probably won’t rush back for a third visit but I’d still recommend this hotel to family and friends.
A fabulous holiday in Ikos Andalusia
We have visited this We have visited this resort on several occasions and have never been disappointed this was a first class holiday and we had a fabulous meal at seasons and we have to congratulate Christian for his excellent service. But even more enjoyable were our numerous visits to the chiringuito on the beach Darko the manager, creates a wonderful set up giving a truly enjoyable experience he is absolutely a superstar credit to Ikos Congratulations to Mf Tsoumanis Our room was kept beautifully clean by Esther Nothing was too much for her and the guys and girls at the swimming pools are fabulous too, extra helpful as I’m in a wheelchair It’s so good that we’ve made a reservation for next year

Kudos to the team!
Wanted to shout out many excellent staff at our recent visit - Yiota, Ildiko, Michael on reception; Smaragda at the bar; Jo at breakfast; Alva the fitness trainer; Katarina at poolside; Carmen the lifeguard who jumped in the pool full kit to help our little one; Lenka helped with our dietary needs.. could go on. Really make you remember the holiday for the caring, friendly, and high quality staff as much as anything else. Thank you and we of course hope to come back
Top class hotel
I had previously been to Oceania on the same date and decided to choose this Ikos hotel hoping the weather would be warmer and I wasn't disappointed. As the for the hotel, it was perfect in every way, from the quality and warmth of the employees, the cleanliness and presentation of the whole complex, through to the variety of restaurants, bars and swimming pools, all offering something different. The location of the hotel is on the beachfront with a paved footpath which leads c.9km into Estapona. Its a good walk, or in my case, a pleasant bike ride on the bikes supplied by the Hotel. This was my third Ikos experience, and it is a strong brand as the expected high quality was present here as it was at the other locations. This is my favourite Ikos and will no doubt return.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ the best all inclusive hotel
Just home from a 10 night stay, this is our 4th holiday at IKOS Andalusia in 2 years. It’s our favourite all inclusive hotel. This time we stayed in a one bedroomed suite which is really well designed and we really appreciated the extra space. The bed is so comfortable and the bathroom is excellent lots of space and a great shower. The service is outstanding every member of staff really goes the extra mile to ensure you have the best time. We love the adults only beach pool as we are a couple with no children, really chilled and fantastic service from Sandra. You will never have to wait long for someone to offer to bring you a drink! The restaurants are all fabulous the food is outstanding as is the service. We love them all but make sure you visit Chiringuito on the beach for lunch. We love how relaxed we are within minutes of arriving, we love lying by the pool but there are options to take the car out for the day or visit a local town. The facilities for children are excellent and for those of us with no children lots of adults only spaces aswell. We love the cocktail bar for a predinner drink and Maria makes the best cocktails. The site is quite compact so it’s really easy to get around and find your bearings. The WhatsApp is so handy for daily updates and you can order to your room or ask any questions and responses are really quick. I would recommend this hotel beautiful location and the best hotel you will ever visit.
