This excellent hotel in distinctive Andalusian style is located directly by the beach. Estepona city centre and the marina with its restaurants, bars, pubs and shops are within a short stroll. Málaga Airport can be reached within 45 minutes by car. The hotel features 24-hour reception, concierge service, currency exchange, free WIFI throughout, meeting rooms, business centre, 2 restaurants, 2 bars, fitness centre, spa and wellness, 2 outdoor pools, children's pool, bicycle rental, car hire and on-site parking (charges apply, 8€/day). Wheelchair accessible.
This hotel boasts a stunning location overlooking the beachfront and Paseo. The outside area with its pool, palm trees and colorful shrubs is very picturesque.
We had a Junior Suite with sea views and Gibraltar in the distance absolutely perfect. The room was cleaned every day; The staff are pleasant and work very hard. There was one negative about the cleaning we could not understand why the carpets near the lifts were always in need of a vacuum when other areas were spotless.
We used the indoor Spa area mid-week and I also enjoyed 2 treatments by Lowri, who was excellent and had a nice pleasant persona. I had a Body Peel and later in the week a mini facial, both were really good.
Estepona Old Town is a “must see” with its cobbled narrow streets and colourful potted plants beside every doorway. We loved wandering up and down the streets taking in all the beauty of the area, it was like a maze! The bust stop into the town is just down the road from the hotel and costs 1.20 euros, and takes about 10 mins although it took 40 mins return for some reason. We walked in one day which takes about an hour, hard going in 30 deg heat. The beachfront is also stunning.
We opted for a Privilege package in the hotel as we have used that service in other H10 hotels as in Tenerife where the service on offer has been excellent. However, we were slightly disappointed with Estepona Palace not offering the same quality. Service. The Buffet area was a little busy but we found a less hectic spot sitting outside. The waiters in this area work very hard.
We enjoyed evening walks after dinner along the paseo, there was a bridge not far away and the river was full of fish and turtles, it was really nice to watch them swim about. A nice relaxing holiday!
Location - little bit out of the way, walked to the marina which was beautiful, struggled to get a taxi back from old town, so walked to the marina and caught a taxi( taxis are reasonable priced) Rooms - Had an upgrade on the room which we paid for, carpets in the hall way were covered in stains and looked bleached and very dated. Had a lovely sea view. Cleaners came in every day. Atmosphere - was told by security that you can’t leave towels to go for breakfast or they will put your stuff in bags, but yet a couple behind us every day went missing for over 3 hours and there stuff never got removed! Played music around the pool for 1 hr a day and the rest of the day was in silence, would have been nice to have background music. Evening entertainment - well it was shocking! This was a let down in the evening, singers that couldn’t sing! Only good night was the magic man,. Food - food was ok, we were half board but ate out a couple times at the marina, food was very much the same every night and cold.. also paid to have lunch and 3 times had to send drinks back as they were not fizzy! . Receptionist - was very helpful when we arrived and wanted to upgrade our room and happy to take our money, after that they were missable when asking to book taxis or for any other information. This is our second time at a H10 this year and I would recommend the one in Tenerife and not to come here it will disappoint you.
Had an enjoyable weeks stay here but this hotel falls short of the usual standard of an H10 hotel.
The hotel is bright and modern. Lobby, restaurants and bars are clean, and the pool area and grounds are well maintained.
Staff are freindly and the service they provide is good.
First impression on entering the room was good. It was a decent size, spotlessly clean, with a good sized balcony. The good impression changed on entering the bathroom. The bathroom was grubby - ingrained dirt around the the perimeter of the room, damaged bath, tarnished taps, cracked tile, mould, filthy shower head.
We did report this to the hotel and guest services did contact us to make efforts to resolve some of the issues. This involved covering the mould, some of the ingrained dirt, and the damaged bath with silicone which didn't really improve matters. We were then offered a change of rooms but with only 2 days left to go it didn't seem worth the hassle.
Spent a few days of our holiday relaxing by the pool. The pool area had plenty of sunbeds and umbreallas and good views over the sea. Before 9.30am they are strict about not allowing the reserving of beds with towels, which was very welcome. Small niggles were that there were no tables and that the pool bar didn't open until 11am.
While enjoying our pool days, we had lunch in the Thalassa Restaurant. Staff here are very attentive and the food is good.
Breakfast in the main restaurant was also good, with the usual selections you'd expect and the food tasty. But dinner here was a different experience altogether. The variety of food was poor. The quality, presentation and taste of the food was average, at best. The food wasn't kept hot. The meat was cooked to order but was so disorganised that this just led to long queues and queue jumping.
We spent our evenings at the Mediterraneo Terrace. Unlike the Lobby Bar, it is table service at this bar. With amazing views as the sun sets this is the perfect place to enjoy drinks.
Had an enjoyable holiday but the issues with the bathroom and the food at dinner can't be overlooked.
From arrival to departure customer service was seamless. Staff were eager to please and ensure a relaxing and comfortable stay. Received an upgrade upon arrival and even a gift for my birthday. Food was great, facilities very clean and atmosphere very relaxing. I can't comment on entertainment as I was in bed by 9p.m every night. Would definitely recommend and plan to stay again in the future.
We have been to several H10 hotels, and I'm sorry to say this is the worst one we have ever been in, The positives Room is nice but dated, reception was very clean and modern, they have a really nice cocktail bar to sit in but that's all Negatives Dirty corridors and carpets Cocktail bar staff disinterested and so that effected the service, ordered a mango daiquiri and it looked like muddy water, all drinks in every bar are watered down no fizz in soft drinks, coffee machine in dining room is cheap nasty Nescafé not bean to grind like in other H10 (Benidorm H10 blows this hotel out the window) Food in restaurants is awful no labels so don't know what you are eating, bad if you have allergies no small pots for preserves, no poached eggs, have to wait while fried eggs are being cooked so creates a que.Fresh fruit but no fresh chopped fruit no berry's of any kind.
Evening meal was disgusting, no labels again, meat cooked to order is very cheap cuts so tough, food under hot lights was dried up and not replenished seen better school canteen food. Not enough sun umbrellas round pool, put up a fence around pool around 5.30 in the evening, people could not use them also never removed it until 10.30 in the morning which to me is silly as people sunbath from 9 till at least 7 in the evening This hotel is very understaffed and i ask that people who visit this hotel speak up about there experience while there, as we spoke to many people who were not happy and would certainly not return but put up with it as on holiday , but it is not cheap to visit this hotel and how will it improve if people are not forthcoming with their experience.
