This complex has 2 distinct outdoor areas with 25,000 m2 of gardens; one for families, and another, more peaceful one for adults. The hotel is surrounded by several golf courses. It is a 15-minute drive away from Puerto Banús, 10 minutes from Sotogrande and 20 minutes from Gibraltar. Built in 2010, the spa complex also offers 210 guest rooms and facilities for celebrations, business meetings, groups and conferences.
Wonderful! A wonderful hotel! This is not 4, a solid 5 stars. We really liked the hotel with its luxurious, comfortable, and spacious rooms. The food is delicious, the breakfasts are excellent, and the dinners are simply magical! The staff deserves special thanks and praise, all guys who work at this hotel. Greetings to Mari Carmen ♥️! We stayed as a family and are very satisfied with our stay. We will definitely come back and recommend the hotel to our friends.
Breakfast staff don’t clear away used plates quick enough. They’re not attentive to your needs and plates/cups aren’t replaced quick enough. I’ve never stayed at a hotel whereby the classification of beds is not confirmed until you arrive. We were a family of 4 (2 20 year old boys). We’d booked a suite and I explicitly asked several times that we’d have one double bed for us and one twin bedded room for the boys and I was told yes on 3 separate occasions. We turn up and got told this wasn’t the case thst they never ever confirm the type of beds. I find this quite ludicrous and unreasonable.
There are not enough choices of food for the evening. 2 years ago in the big tent area they used to have sofas so you could have a pre dinner drink and the menu would change every 2/3 nights. It gets very monotonous to see the same menu thsts why we went out most nights.
Finally bathrooms need updating and the fact that for your parking you had to pay there and then it can’t go into your bill is just crazy.
Pros: -
several really nice pool and pool areas.
it has one of the best hotel gyms I’ve seen. Well stocked, spacious (they have a prowler track) and air conditioned.
rooms were comfortable and relatively modern.
any servers we encountered seemed friendly and helpful.
Cons: -
there is no water fountain or anywhere to get large bottles of drinkable water. They sell small bottles at the pool bar for about €5 a pop. The only other option is to cross a busy motorway to the local Lidl and carry back your weeks worth of bottled water.
no free beach towels (fines for not returning them). We found this petty and unnecessary.
the premises is absolutely vast and lifts frequently don’t work. You can cover long distances walking from your room
to the restaurant or pool.
taxis and access generally: we waited 20 mins for a taxi into the centre. The hotel is not central.
check in and check out was very slow.
bathroom and shower are lethal. Insufficient bath mats and wet marble are an accident waiting to happen.
Wifi didn't work with our iOS products (3 iPhones and 1 MacBook), Ffood was generally cold, even the dinner was raw (chicken breast) and could't even be improved after complaining. AC runs too strong, even at high temperatures the room was cold and airflow was uncomfortable. Service and responses to different questions were very bad, they feel like they're superior and the guest is there to just pay the bills. Cannot recommend going there to anyone. Such customer service would never work in other places in the world. Pool was nice though.
We used Estepona as a base to day trip to other cities. Great location of hotel to do this. Easy in / out. Due to slow season we were able to park on street area for free. Called cabs to get into town in the evenings. Front desk called for us and within 5 mins we were in cab. Staff very friendly, service excellent. Rooms were large , clean and comfortable. Beautiful view from our deck. The hotel could use more furniture in the lobby and community areas. Heating at least the outdoor hot tub would have been nice since the pools were too cold to enjoy.
