- Sunset Beach Club

This exceptional resort boasts a magnificent location in Benalmádena right on the water's edge, and just a short taxi ride to Benalmadena Marina. The resort's convenient location means the villages of Mijas and Fuengirola are not far away with tennis and golf clubs, as well as a casino nearby. Moreover, Malaga international airport is a mere 20 minutes’ ride. Visitors may love to relax by the side of the outdoor swimming pool, sunbathing or resting under the shadow of an umbrella. After a full day of sightseeing, sporting action or playing on the beach, guests can unwind in the comfortable rooms, which are perfectly equipped with all the essential amenities needed for a pleasant stay.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Lovely clean hotel with all the amenities you need on site and surrounding, you can walk to the marina however in the heat it’s a bit of a task and will take around 40 minutes at an average pace. We stayed in the junior deluxe suite (family of four) and was well equipped and had everything we needed. The only negatives about the hotel is that it is very noisy the corridors carry the noise and screams and there was banging and ringing of the door bells frequently and loud talking etc as the corridors are long so they really carry the noise so we didn’t get much sleep before 1am and after 8am… People are still Queuingfir sun beds and have absolutely no reason to so Lord knows why they feel the need to do it as at no point in our holiday did we ever have to do this and always got beds so please don’t be “that person” as there’s no need!!!! Location is pretty much out of the way of things like the marina, and the squares but that said there are still restaurants shops and bars within walking distance and the bus stops for everywhere are literally located right outside as are the taxis if you don’t fancy the walk. If I had to go to Benalmadena again I would stay at this hotel but tbh the resort wasn’t for us as we like a bit more variety and livelier
This was our fifth visit, and once again the hotel was perfect. The rooms have been upgraded, new beds new furniture, everything spotless. Cleaning staff were amazing, always on hand with clean laundry and anything else we needed. The entertainment was great but could so with a change, Edel was fantastic. We did find pool lacked cleaning not up to usual standards. Prices in the bar are nearly as dear as Ireland. One thing I would say is if sunset beach wasn’t in Benalmádena we could not go back to Benalmadena . The whole town is very run down, broken and dangerous footpaths everywhere. Litter and rubbish in hedges and on the ground. Smell of sewerage from shores. The beach was closed one day because of sewerage floating in the water, but not before my children swam in it and got sick. Most of the local restaurants are not great. My wife was very sick after eating in Cocos. A little Jem we found for breakfast was A place called Ketchup. We did hire jet skis from a place right beside sunset beach staff were very rude talking in Spanish and laughing at us when we questioned the safety. So to sum up sunset beach hotel we give 9 out of ten. Benalmadena town we give a 2
Good for families. Great location. We had a couple of issues with the room when we first arrived but this was resolved promptly and we were able to pay to upgrade to a garden suite which was much better for our family of 4 with two teenage boys, much more room for us.
The staff work endlessly cleaning and the hotel is spotless everywhere considering height of the season and also fully booked.
Special mention to the oasis restaurant staff for the way the breakfast service is run. I would imagine this is a difficult task with how busy it is but it runs extremely well, catering for everyone and is immaculately clean and they always have a smile on their face!
Thank you
After reading a few reviews leading up to our trip , I was slightly sceptical what to expect. I really shouldn't have been. The entertainment was good especially for the kids. Pool beds, although there was people queuing every day, you still had plenty of beds by mid afternoon. The location was right next to the beach. And if your mobility is fine location is good and you can walk to amenities however if like us we rented a car and had to drive everywhere, parking was a bit of a nightmare to find. Also to park at the hotel was 18 euros a day which when paying for accommodation there , that mounted up for the week. I understand beach goers were parking at the car park so understand they should pay but for people staying in the hotel , it was a bit unfair. We never ate in the hotel so couldn't review there food but drinks prices were average hotel prices. The bar around the corner right on the sea front was beautiful. The hotel was clean and beautifully decorated, the rooms were cleaned every day.
We absolutely loved our stay in sunset beach club, location is great plenty of restaurants and beach on your door step, taxis outside the hotel if you want to go further afield, it was very busy when we stayed great buzz all day, our room was spotless clean when we arrived and has everything you need, the hotel has a great little shop with all your essentials, the bakery is fresh and handy for breakfast or lunch. The pool areas are spotless clean and so much fun with activities through out the day, all the staff in the hotel are so nice, my 7 year old daughter loved the kpop demon show, we will be back! Thank you to everyone at sunset beach club!
