Hotel Palmasol

Dont go....arrived and reception staff were very unhelpfull gave us no information at all of how to get to room...how to get in room (because its not a key fob!!) no idea at all where to go to eat and what times....found out later you have to download all that info from rep who could only give us the spanish version??? so we had to keep asking fellow guests...bathroom wasnt clean at all..contained someone elses hairs on floor and in the bottom of shower which was gross!! Went half board and struggled with meat aspect...not very nice at all...lived on salad, bread and cake....you probably think i am a moaner but am really not....so many other guests agreed and all felt the same that they definately wouldnt stay there again ! (Room overlooked a lovely building site which started up about 7am every morning...whilst this isnt really the hotels fault i do think they could have let us know before we arrived!) Also must mention the queing for drinks...no waiter service at all and the que in the evenings was ridiculous, had 2 staff at most which was hopeless for the amount of people there.

I’m the first the complain if things are not right , we arrived at hotel 2 adults and 1 child at 1pm check in was fine we did have a confusion with beach towels when asked if we could use there’s they are £3.50 per day per person , Wes charged 59 euro for the safe with 10 euro back when you check out , our room was ready 354 so we went straight to our room , our room was big and we had a wet room bathroom which was also very big we looked over the pool and could see the sea . Food was lovely everything you could mention for breakfast and evening meal was was lots of choice we didn’t eat out once and that’s unusual for us only problem if they run out of something was slow refilling the dishes up and very quick cleaning or tables when finished restaurant was very clean They did a baroque night which was nice but you have to book it at reception Pool area the queuing of the sunbeds everyday was a pain people start at 845 for the gate to open at 930 we used to go down about 915 and join the que we always got a bed , only problem if you are off your bed for more than 45 mins your towel is removed so we could not go for a family walk after breakfast because we would of had no beds for the day I do understand the rule to stop people putting towels down all day and not using them, and not opening the gate till 930 there is no sunbed wars with people putting towels on at 6am there is no ball s allowed or jump ing the people it was a nice peaceful pool Evening entertainment was poor we didn’t stop in just had a drink in bar when we’ve been out always got served quick .
I would definitely stop at this hotel again very clean it is a 4 star hotel the building work over the road never affected us we used the gate entrance the back of the hotel not the front , the wrist bands are a good idea they open your room check you in the dining area and you put money on them to pay for things in the hotel Or you can pay card we put cash on how’s at the reception

A few negative things , Beach Towels should be included we had to go out and buy some it’s 350 a day if you change them everyday or not it was going to cost us 49 euro each for 2 weeks , safe should be free Allowed at least a hour to leave your sunbed so we could go for a walk All the reception staff was friendly expect for one she had long curly hair and she just wasn’t helpful everything was to much trouble even asking for ironing board she always said got none , there is a lot of steps if disabled Would definitely stop in this hotel again if returned

Just returned from this hotel and I think people should be aware of what you'll be stepping into. The rooms are adaquate but smaller than other hotels rooms we've stayed in. The breakfast is ok with a good choice, but could really be warmer that what it was daily. The location is great and pretty much central to the resort. After emailing the hotel twice to request a room with a garden / pool view before our arrival, was given a room overlooking the building site that was over the road around 40 feet away. This noise was unbelievable from 8.00am to 3.30pm, so no quiet lazy mornings here I'm afraid. In my view the travel agents shound make future guest more aware of this and not state that " there maybe some construction noise " to " there will be construction noise all day " and be more truthful about this hotel. To top off our stay, I had an expensive bottle of aftershave go missing from our room, after searching for it everywhere to no avail, I felt the need to report this to the reception. They said that they would ask the housekeeping staff if they knew of its whereabouts and get back in touch. Within a couple of hours they called back saying that the aftershave had fallen off the bathroom shelf and broke, though no note was left to us telling this had happened. The following morning we went to reception as they had asked us to, to discuss compensation. We was then told that they had found the aftershave and that it was beside a bin after being told it had been smashed, somewhat confusing. We went directly to our room from this conversation to find a mysterious bottle of aftershave that was not mine and left on the bathroom shelf. Knowing now that the staff where playing a game, we took the mysterious bottle back to reception and asked to see the manager. Nothing happened until we got the Jet2 rep involved, of which she sorted out within a couple of hours with me receiving a new bottle of like for like aftershave that had gone missing. I think if you get a decent room not overlooking the major building site and for a good price, you may have an ok stay, but be aware that they do have clumsy cleaners, say no more.
