Not sure how this hotel gets negative reviews.
Arrived on Wednesday for a 7 night stay with my partner having stayed here 3 years ago with my niece. After reading several “ bad reviews” I was a little nervous that I’d chosen this hotel again, but it’s been absolutely great. Rooms are basic but fully functional, breakfast more than adequate, staff unbelievably good & a fantastic location. I can highly recommend this hotel & everything it showcases, my partner was dubious but has already said he’d like to return.

Lovely hotel
Lovely hotel. Great location. Good value. Decor & furniture in communal areas delightful. Good book exchange (I always love a good one of those!)
Staff were pleasant with a "hola" when they saw you. Rooms spacious! Loads of electric sockets! Air conditioning worked well. Take a travel kettle & tea/coffee bags if you want a drink in your room. There is a useful fridge though. Lovely toiletries supplied & hairdryer. Food nice. Maybe a bit repetitive but we always found something we liked.
I'm not a swimmer, but saw the pool we were near used frequently. (There are two).
They are still working on an hotel nearby, but we hardly heard it & spent an interesting few minutes watching the skilled crane driver lifting supplies to the top floor!
There are some "so so" remarks about the Victory Corner attached to the hotel, but we loved sitting outside watching football. Inside was very clean & colourful. Mateus who runs it was nice. Pizza was nice too!
Location only real good thing
Quite disappointed given the other reviews. The location is fabulous, however the atmosphere is dull and a very old clientele. The rooms were ok however if you’re on floor 7, don’t expect your toilet roll to be replenished, we had to ask reception for some more. Please be careful when speaking to reception as a couple were helpful (especially the guy from Yorkshire) however most of the others were ‘computer says no’. Breakfast was decent though and sets you up for the day. Swimming pools are ‘cute’ but should NOT be called swimming pools.

Unhelpful reception staff
Basic hotel , breakfast ok , asked to pay extra for balcony ,asked to extend room on last day , asked to change pool towels , responses were all met with a negative unfriendly response from the unsmiling unhelpful male reception staff . Understand there may have been reasons for requests to be turned down however the attitude of the staff when responding was very negative.hotel itself had nice areas and the bar staff were very nice , breakfast was basic and unappealing. Hotel itself had well situated very near marina which was a plus .
Definitely not a 4* hotel
Great location. Our room was ok, but as we paid extra for a Junior Suite it was disappointing. The balcony was very small. We had to steal toilet rolls from the cleaners trolley as they were very mean with them. The restaurant staff were amazing. However, the food quality was appalling. It was bland, luke warm and very unappetising. By the end of our stay it had become a chore going for breakfast and dinner as we knew what was on offer. We wouldn't stay here again. The hotel was full of very rude old people with no manners. The management need to take these reviews seriously.
