This hotel is good for family's, not good if you are elderly or have problems with breathing as there is a very steep hill to climb to the hotel entrance from the main road or you can walk up through the tunnel and up some steps to the hotel. To reach the beach there is a tunnel with more steps or you need to walk along the road to the marina, there is also 80 steps to the beach by the side of the Rivieria Hotel opposite on the right. The room we were given 409 with a pool and sea view was just what we asked for and think this was one of the best rooms, decor was very good, it did have air con but this only kept the temp down to about 25/28c at night, room cleaned every day and a change of bed lining during the 10 days, you can hire a kettle if you need one from reception for a refundable deposit, the food in the restaurant was average bacon floating in fat at breakfast and 3 different stews most nights for dinner didn't see much meat only Pork, deserts ok, drinks at the bar were very reasonable priced and a bottle of wine at your table 12 euro's. the restaurant was very noisy with many nationalities not many English staying there. Entertainment started too late 10/10.30pm we gave up and went to bed most nights. My worst fear was on the last day in the restaurant while getting my evening meal I saw 2 cockroaches which look like they had come from the kitchen, I had already written to the hotel about my concerns 3 weeks before arriving and was told by the management this had been dealt with, as I had already read previous reviews about this problem. We were also bittern by lots of mosquitos. Workman were still working on the new Infinity Pool and other projects around complex. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Finally we will not be returning and will stick to adult only hotels again in the future.
Read previous reviews and i was concerned before arrival. Anyway on arrival the reception staff were very abrupt and we received little or no information regarding meal times location of restaurant or other facilities.
Once in the room it was clean but very dated with wardrobe doors that didn't close and poorly fitted fixtures and fittings. Air con was very noisy! Room was cleaned daily and towels changed when needed.
You wouln't go hungry at breakfast as plenty of selection but we ate out after the first evening meal as it wasn't great.
The access to the pool area is restricted till 10am which is ridiculous when it is so hot and families have children. The pool area is far to small for the ammount of guests and is not kept very clean. The pool bar queus were ridiculous with staff spending more time talking than serving guests and customer service was terrible.
Entertainment! Where do i start, absolutly terrible worst i have ever seen.
We have been to Spain numerous times over the years and this is by far the worst Hotel we have stayed in. The resort itself is beautiful. We will be going back but not to this Hotel.
At best a 2 star Hotel which is very very dated and requires a massive overhaul in all areas.
The hotel is perfectly located. That is where the positives end! On arrival the reception staff were abrupt and provided no information about facilities. To the extent that when we went for dinner that first evening we were sent away by the maitre d because we didn’t have the relevant paper needed to access the restaurant. I would add that he was also unpleasant and very rude. Breakfast was ok. Plenty of choice but we ate out of an evening following the first night as we were not impressed with the food. Our hotel room was clean but very dated and we had large crack across the whole patio door which was held together with clear tape. I would not have stayed in this room had I had children with me or was on a lower floor. The room on the balcony is restricted by the huge air con unit. All the general areas were very dated. A couch outside of the lift area was damaged with a large rip in it. The lifts had damage to them. All areas which could easily be updated or changed with a little effort. There is no access to the pool area until 10am which is inconvenient if you have children or the cleaning staff are wanting to access your room. The reception area is far from a pleasant area to sit in with no refreshments available. There is a bar near reception but it was never open. They have recently installed an ‘infinity’ pool but for the life of me I can’t figure out why. It does have water cascading over one edge but there’s no optical illusion or a nice view from it. It overlooks another pool a little more than 4 feet below it. At an additional cost of €25 for 2 beds around it I thought was a bit of a rip off too. They do have a few Bali beds which always seemed available but these were also an additional cost of €15 per day. I suspected the 10am opening of the pool area was to allow for cleaning but I was wrong because although they appear to hose it down every day..it’s far from clean! Evening entertainment was dreadful. The resort is lovely. We are not normally beach users but did on this trip as it was preferable to the pool and only a few minutes walk away. It had excellent facilities. The marina had some excellent restaurants and well worth a visit. We will definitely be back to the resort but we will not be back to this hotel. I would not recommend.
Lovely hotel, rooms spacious & cleaning done daily. Great location for the beach & not to far too the marina. 2nd year staying with a group if friends & would recommend 👌
Hotel pictures need updating to give a true reflection, what you don’t see is the dumping ground for building waste to the side of the pool area. As for the star rating it’s a three at best and I’m being generous. I appreciate that there has been some modernisation carried out. Location is good. Rooms have the smallest wardrobes in-the world, but you do get access to a free safe for valuables. Have to admit the beds for me were excellent,I’ve always had issues with holiday hotel beds. Cleaning staff do a good job. We had paid extra for a better room but once again we had a lovely view of a builders yard. As for noise the hotel is located on a main road so if you’ve paid for a room upgrade you’ll hear everything from the main road. As for the breakfast it was ground hog day for seven days, no variation whatsoever. As for my room it was cleaned every day and I was happy with that. The hotel staff were very good and dealt with any issues I had in a polite , respectful and professional manner. Atmosphere, there seemed to be plenty of things going on during the day and night, but we took advantage of Benalmadena’s fantastic beaches ,marina restaurants and nightlife.
