Hotel Best Siroco

Hotel was clean, quiet and the rooms were cleaned daily. Staff were very friendly n helpful. Pool was busy n suspect some users weren’t staying there as the gate to the street was often left open. The food was of a high standard and plentiful with choices changing daily. We felt the bar in the hotel should have been open as not everyone wanted to go out n down to pool area to get a drink whilst they relaxed indoors appreciating the AC. NB whilst walking away from the marina someone tried to steal from my bag so be warned even when you think you’re in a lovely resort n it’s not busy there are opportunists!

This is my third stay at best Siroco-Always in a premium room a this time I travelled with my two children in peak August.

Yes, this hotel mainly caters for Spanish guests especially at weekends however it is a very good standard of four star- the premium rooms come with complementary drinks but these are not replaced. All rooms are double bed no triple beds in the premium rooms.

Tickets for breakfast, lunch and dinner, do you seem a bit outdated but the food is a good quality and good selection. The queue can look big at times due to one entrance in and out ( hotel should consider offering outdoor dining to ease)

If you go half board you are able to swap the evening meal for a lunch allowing you to go out on an evening should you wish without losing the meal included. The new edition of adult only with swimming pool looks lovely but I had a 13 year with me so i was disappointingly unable to use.

Staff can be hit and miss with their acknowledgement and interactions with British guests, however Helen in the restaurant is amazing and has been there years! She needs a raise! Sunbeds are only an issue after 11am and if you require a shade / umbrella. Yes people queue at 10am (me included) as they want a specific spot.

We were a family of three. We knew in advance that our room only had two large beds, as this was stated in the room description, although we noticed that some neighbouring rooms of the same size had three beds. The room and corridors were quite dated and could use some updating, while the common areas were more in keeping with what you would expect from a four-star hotel.

The two pools were rather small for the size of the hotel, and the water felt quite warm, especially in the early evening. In July, the pools were open until 8 pm, but the pool area did not open until 10 am. So, thankfully, there was no need to get up at sunrise to reserve a sun lounger! However, there was already a queue at the entrance by 10 am.

There were quite a few rules and instructions, but the information was somewhat scattered and not always easy to find. The hotel information was available on the room TV, although unfortunately the English version of the menu did not work.

Most guests were Spanish, and the entertainment team seemed to focus mainly on the Spanish-speaking guests. The language barrier was occasionally noticeable, as some of the younger members of the team spoke very little English. The entertainment programme was fairly limited, although there was something organised every day.

The friendliness of the reception staff was a bit hit and miss. Ehen ee were checking out, we were rather firmly told off for returning our pool towels to reception instead of to the lifeguard by the pool. There was no information anywhere explaining this, although we were told that we had apparently been informed about it at check-in.

The food was definitely one of the highlights. It was excellent and varied, and we particularly enjoyed the evening show cooking – the wok dishes were a favourite! The restaurant staff were also fantastic and worked incredibly hard throughout every meal.

There was usually a queue at the restaurant entrance around 9 am and again after 8 pm, with guests being seated as tables became available. Breakfast was served until 10:30 am, which was a real bonus – it is lovely not to have to rush for breakfast on holiday! Lunch was from 1 pm to 3 pm and dinner from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Guests were still arriving at 9:30 pm, so food presumably remained available after that time as well.

Overall, the hotel had some shortcomings, particularly the dated rooms, small pools and occasional communication issues, but the excellent food and hard-working restaurant staff were definite positives.
