Great hotel with spacious rooms and good food
Benalmadena hotel
The hotel is in a quiet area overlooking the sea, approximately 2 miles from the harbour. To get to the beach there is a slope down either via the front of the hotel or from the pool area. someone with poor mobility could find this difficult. The hotel staff were lovely and extremely helpful. The hotel was clean with a nice reception , bar and pool area. We did not use the gym or the spa. The rooms we had were clean but dated ,you can pay for a kettle tea and coffee for your room.Pool towels are available for a deposit. Our room over looked the sea and the outdoor entertainment area, the entertainment stoped a a reasonable time. The dining area was clean nicely set out and flowed very well . The meals were varied and plentiful, I am vegetarian and found that a lot of the dishes near the salad area had either fish or meat added to them but I found the stir fry cooked fresh for each person fantastic. For breakfast the choice for both myself and my husband was very good. I would certainly consider returning again.

Please take note of the sickness bug
Writing review on behalf of my parents. They stayed at this hotel 26th June onwards for 1 week. 2 nights into the holiday my Mam was severely ill with sickness and diarrhoea for 3 days and then a further bout 2 days later. They only ate at the hotel, so cannot say it was from outside the hotel. This absolutely ruined their holiday. Thankfully my Dad went to the chemist straightaway to get anti sickness and electrolytes, the chemist was really helpful and I truly believe if my Mam had not had the medication she would have ended up in hospital. Please take note of all reviews with this sickness bug, it’s horrendous and clearly an issue with hygiene/food safety at the hotel.

Brilliant trip, lots of info in my review.
This hotel was perfect for two of us 💕 We went with the all inclusive board and do not regret at all
Constant snacks available all day (chips, nuggets, crisps, burgers etc) however some products (pizza, redbull) are not included which is a shame.
The hotel is spotless and not one thing i could fault in terms of housekeeping, fresh towels every day (some hotels have made us reuse towels before)
The rooms are all facing the water, we panicked as we got the side sea view and thought it would be poor but we were facing directly the sea.
The dinner theme changes every night but there is plenty of standard food available if you are picky or have small children
The hotel is also very peaceful, the hotel does not allow any foul play which is good as a stagparty came in and was being roust and the hotel manager put a stop to it straight away before I had the chance to complain
Cocktails are delicious and so much entertainment through the day and night, music is played through the day(some Spanish and some like Michael Jackson, Bruno mars)
There is also lots to do for young kids
(There is day beds which you need to pay extra for)

Alot left to be desired.
We came here as a large group booking of 18. Within a couple of days of arriving, several of our party became horrendously ill, with sickness and diarrhoea. Which by the last day of our stay maybe only 3 people have left unaffected. We initially blamed the food, with everybody becoming quite wary of what they ate. But after discussions we believe it to be a sickness bug as nobody had eaten all the same foods. Staff were not particularly helpful with this information. They did however offer to clean the rooms but with everybody so poorly and stuck in bed, the disturbance wasn't wanted. !
Onto the rooms. Lovely spacious and appeared clean. Upon initial entering the room. It was tidy and mostly clean. However the floors could do with a thorough mop as even after a shower our feet were filthy just from walking across the floor. Housekeeping didn't always leave us fresh towels or even toilet paper . We had to go and request toilet paper a few times this trip.
Staff. The staff were very friendly and approachable. The bar staff, entertainment team and wait staff. Were mainly polite and gracious.
Would i stay here again. ...? Most likely not!!!
