Located in Benalmadena, in a residential area just 200 m from the beach and Malaga Airport is about 8 km away. This hotel is 2 km from the city centre and its many shops and entertainment areas while the stunning Marina City is only 1 km away. The hotel offers a cosy bar, a souvenir shop, a TV room and a restaurant. The hotel also offers laundry service and the younger guests will be entertained at the kids' club and playground. The hotel boasts a water park, with a lake pool and water games for children. For the younger ones there are two animal-shaped pools, a shark and sea serpent, a mushroom-shaped shower and a tower with two water slides and a splash bucket that will make for an exciting holiday.
The hotel itself was clean, and we had no complaints about the rooms, cleaning, or the food. The location is also okay, and overall the facilities were decent. The kids enjoyed the holiday.
Unfortunately, the main thing that let the hotel down was the service and the constant queuing. With the exception of the lady at the snack bar, we found a lot of the bar staff to be very grumpy and unfriendly.
On one occasion, I tried to explain to Juan, the jefe de bar, that there were six of us, but he was still rude and unhelpful. This was disappointing and made the bar experience feel awkward rather than relaxed.
You seem to spend a huge amount of time queuing, both at the bar and first thing in the morning for sun loungers. At times it honestly felt more like being treated as cattle than guests. There is also a strict rule of only two drinks per person at a time, and staff will point or tap the sign quite rudely if you ask for more. If you are travelling with a larger family, be prepared to spend a lot of your evening queuing just to get a round of drinks.
Considering it was quite expensive, I expected a better overall experience. It is a shame, because there were good points about the hotel, but the attitude at the bar, the constant queues, and the sun lounger situation would put us off returning.
Amazing experience. Had great holidays with family. Really recommend them.
I’ve honestly never experienced anything as ridiculous as the pool situation at Globales Los Patos. The pool gates don’t open until 10am, yet the main outside door opens at 9am. So what happens? They lock everyone out, force guests to queue like cattle, and then unleash absolute carnage the second the gate is opened.
People are running, pushing, scrambling for sunbeds — it’s a real health and safety risk, and the hotel is creating it themselves. It’s stressful, chaotic, and completely unnecessary. The whole thing causes frustration, anxiety, and panic, especially for families who just want a relaxing start to the day.
Why not simply open the gates at 9am when the outside door opens? It would stop the queues, stop the stampede, and stop guests feeling like they’re competing in some sort of sunbed Olympics. The current setup is honestly unacceptable and ruins what should be a relaxing holiday.
Fantastic first holiday for our nearly 2 year old. Just got back from a week half board staying in this hotel and we honestly had a fantastic time. Rooms were spacious and clean for the little time we spent in there. We requested a quiet room and an extra bed for our daughter rather than the cot and both were delivered. Food was pretty good, we were a party or 6 with some fussy eaters but there was always something for everyone. Getting a sunbed could be difficult as people would be queuing from 8am but there’s not much the hotel could do about this as gates for pool were not opened until 10, we still always managed to get a sun bed though. The only criticism I have is that they sell day passes to the locals on a weekend making it extra busy. The pools were fab and our little girl loved the middle pool with all the smaller slides, lots of umbrellas for shade and overall we loved our stay and would definitely return in the future
Just returned from a weeks stay on a bed and breakfast basis. We found check in to be quick and had no issues with reception when we required them. We only had breakfast at the hotel so can’t fully comment on the quality of food, we were always greeted warmly at arrival for breakfast and was directed to our seating. The hotel itself is kept very clean, the cleaners always making an effort to say hello. The rooms themselves are quite small including the bathroom which wasn’t ideal but we don’t spend much time in the room any way. As other people have mentioned the access to the pool areas of a morning needs to be improved, people are queuing inside the hotel from 8.30am before the doors are opened and then if you want a bed by the splash park or pool they had to queue again until 10am before these gates were opened, we got beds near the table tennis and swings most days which was fine for us and this area can be accessed at 9am. We found most staff friendly, as we were only B&B we didn’t encounter the queuing issues other people have commented on as we did go out for dinner and evening meal every night. The location is okay but we would have preferred to be closer to the marina, we got a taxi there during our stay (8 euros) and walked back along the sea front which takes a good 30-35 minute walk. There are some nice restaurants along the front and there is a couple of good value bars close to the hotel (Wi Kikis and Coco sports bar, we ate here a couple of times and food portions were huge and good value) Overall we had a really nice holiday, the hotel is more 3 star than 4, but in the main no complaints from us.
