Why
very nice hotel but why all about the french
Wonderful hotel
Just returned from a fantastic weeks stay at the Estival Torrequebrada. Our room had spectacular views over the med and pool areas and it was wonderful to wake up to such stunning views every morning. The food was always of a very high quality with so much choice every day and catered for even the fussiest of eaters. The staff were extremely helpful and Xisemena who served at the pool bar was so friendly and efficient even at the busiest of times. One massive negative for me though was the amount of smokers at the pool bar which forced us to have our drinks round the pool instead of sitting at the outside area at the pool bar. Surely there could be a separate area for those wishing to smoke and those of who wish to breathe in cleaner air!! Also at night the upstairs outside area was spoilt for us because of the constant smell of cigarette smoke forcing us to sit inside which is not what we really wanted to do as we wanted to watch the nightly entertainment. I would love to return to the Estival but feel that without the smoking concerns being addressed I would not consider doing so. The entertainment did not start until 10pm which I consider being too late and other people I spoke to agreed.

Great bit a few things could have been better
Lovely hotel, modern, well kept and very clean. We went as a couple in our early twenties. We got a free room upgrade on arrival, with sea view, amazing views we were on floor 4 out of 11. Lots of different seating areas inside and outside for chilling and evening spots. There’s an indoor bar that’s got 6 TV screens, was a bonus as the World Cup football was on during our stay, didn’t see this advertised or on any reviews so that was a good surprise. Staff happy to change channels for different sports also. Buffet fine, plenty of choices and something for everyone. Pools lovely, only used the adults only ones as the family pool very active and noisy. Nothing happens on the adults side though, no activities or music. Location good, easy with buses to get to marina and an amazing Indian just opposite the hotel called Bombay Bistro, worth a visit! Overall a great experience and happy with our stay, few minor things that could have been better for the amount of money you pay (and we aren’t picky people at all) and feel a few more things should be included in the all inclusive.
- You get 1 free water in the room on arrival, every other holiday we’ve been on you get a new bottle daily.
- You get a coin on arrival per person for drinks at pool, you hand in the coins when you get a drink and then you hand your empty glasses back and the coins returned for the next day, good idea and happy to do this, however slightly annoying at the end of chilling by the pool you have to stand in a drinks line just to get your coins back - feel like there should be a separate line/section for empty cups and getting your coins back.
- In the evening, waiters take your empty glasses but they don’t serve, not a biggy but would be nice in the evening and again the lines can get quite long sometimes and you’re waiting 10 mins in the line.
- Evening entertainment not the greatest, nothing really took our fancy. They had a pool party one night and that was fun.
- Theme nights at the buffet aren’t advertised, or not that we could see.
- There are QR codes dotted around the hotel that opens a link to the hotel page for what’s going on eg entertainment, only realised this half way through the trip, could have been informed on arrival.
- The A La Carte restaurant is only included if your booked through Jet2Holidays otherwise you have to pay, seems cheeky for all inclusive, we didn’t bother but a shame as nice to change it up rather than buffet every night.
- Snack bar located in the family side, serves chips, burgers, hot dogs, pizza. Can get a bit samey. Would be nice if they had a little menu where you can order, like a wrap or pasta dish, we’ve had this in previous hotels.
- You pay a deposit for beach towels and then €1 daily charge if you want clean ones each day, again should just be included I feel.
- The adults only side is 16 and up to note, was fine but a couple of youngsters being annoying in the pools at times.
Overall great stay, with some minor things that could have been better/included for the price you pay. Would I come again, no, solely because we’ve had a lot more benefits and included things for the same price at other hotels.
Avoid!! Huge disappointment!!
Upon arrival, the hotel greets you with a raw sewage smell that continues throughout and cockroaches on -2 Floor.
Splash Park As a family of 3 with a 2yr old, this hotel is NOT suitable. The splash park is only for children above 90cm, no mention on the website regarding height restrictions otherwise we wouldn’t have booked here.
Food Not a huge selection but you wouldn’t go hungry. Only 1 restaurant and 1 à la carte. 2 snack bars.
Our son has a controlled dairy allergy but there’s no oat milk when asking the chef. However, they provide soy or almond milk as an alternative if your child likes that.
Room Marbella tower, nice view of Fuengirola! Clean but noisy beds, super squeaky! Bathroom needs a sliding door on the shower as the floor tends to get wet. Few English TV.
There’s much nicer hotels in the Torremilinos area such as RIU Costa Del Sol - highly recommend for families.
Warning
As my first time visiting Spain, I thought I would experience great things in the country and meet great people to bond with, personally I find comfort in the hotel that I stay at, though the same can not be said when I showed up to this hotel. This was the first time I was ever accused of being a thief, which might have been prompted by the color of my skin. The lady bombarded us (Me and my brother ) whilst we were enjoying ourselves in the indoor pool, saying "I didn't see you coming in with towels", she wouldn't listen to what were saying and when she left to check the surveillance cameras, she didn't even think of apologizing to us for spoiling our mood.
This review is made to make future visitors aware of the treatment, they might recieve from their supposed hosts. (P.S. the meals were absolutely horrible, and we had to dine out every day just to avoid it, inevitably wasting our hard earned money on something that was meant to be enjoyable )
