Just returned from a very enjoyable stay in what can be best described as a small traditional 4star hotel. Rooms a little dated but in good clean condition with ensuite facilities [shower over bath]. Food good & bar prices best described as 'sensible' No complaints & will probably visit again. Worth noting that tea making facilities are not provided in the room. Also English breakfast tea is not available in the dining room or bars. Many flavoured exotic blends are available though. Noise levels on the whole were ok but World cup football was taking place & being shown on large screen Tv. Tv in the room pretty poor with only 3 pixelating UK channels to choose from. ok if you can manage with Spanish Freeview! Extra payment upfront for a sake in the room. Pool towels at a hefty refundable deposit of 20 euros each. worth noting the hotel position on a steep hill. A courtesy bus runs up & down to the beach & back several times a day but each trip has to be pre booked both ways on the day.
Location is ok only a short walk into the centre of Albir. Atmosphere is a 3* hotel and fine for a short visit .Rooms are tired and mine needs a repaint with scuff marks on every wall . Food is just about passable but nothing cooked fresh to order ( even the Omlettes are plain only ) rest is a very basic buffet fare . Hotel has serious deficiencies when it comes to cleaning as for 10 days no one has cleaned around the pool area which has had cigarette bits and old straws laying around the pool edge and around the sunbed area . (Bearing in mind it’s a no smoking area). Rooms are serviced regularly but this mainly consists of only making your bed ( not had a sheet change in 5 days) and replacing towels, toilet paper and toiletries however the bath and sink haven’t been cleaned for days .The foyer area seating is beyond dirty along with dining room seats .we have brought this to the attention of the front desk but 24 hours later not one improvement . If I wasn’t checking out in in 3 days and had not paid already then I would have changed hotels.
The hotel is very clean throughout but very run down. We only stop for a few days so only used it has a basic. We did room only the only choice of food at the bar was pizza or pizza baguette. There is no way near enough sun lounge but plenty of room for more there was a few argument over the sun lounge while We was there. Has for location it up a very steep hill but not far from albir center about 15 minutes work. But the hill a killer walking back up it. Don’t think it very child free too nothing really for kids other than a small pool.
The Sun Palace Albir Hotel has a lovely atmosphere! From the moment you arrive, you feel a sense of calm and relaxation. The staff are super friendly and helpful, making the whole experience really pleasant.
⭐ 1 STAR – DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY
Absolutely appalling. One of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had.
We paid £503 for just 3 nights and were shocked by the condition of the room. It was filthy, smelled bad, had mould around the air conditioning and in the bathroom, and had broken furniture. This was not a minor issue or a room that simply needed a little attention — the overall condition was completely unacceptable for a hotel charging this amount of money.
What made the experience even worse was the complete lack of response from the hotel.
We complained through Booking.com and the hotel was given 5 days to respond. They didn't. We were then told to give them another 24 hours. Still nothing.
No meaningful response. No apology. No explanation. No attempt to resolve the situation.
After paying £503, the eventual outcome was that Booking.com credited just £42 to our Booking.com account.
The photos we have taken show the condition of the room and speak for themselves.
I genuinely cannot understand how a hotel can accept over £500 for a three-night stay and think this standard of accommodation is acceptable.
Mould, dirt, bad smells and broken furniture are not what anyone should have to put up with when paying this kind of money for a hotel room.
Management seriously needs to look at the condition of this hotel and, more importantly, how customer complaints are dealt with.
I would NOT recommend this hotel and I absolutely would not stay here again. Think very carefully before booking.
