Servigroup Nereo

We came here for our 11th wedding Anniversary as we have been here to the Servigeoup hotels particularly this one as it has had a good reputation. But unfortunately it has gone down hill and the prices have gone up at least by 20% which is a lot. For a start a four star hotel should have tea and coffee facilities as tea and coffee and kettles don't cost that much plus there should be free bottles of water like they used to be. for the money your paying nearly €200 a night for full board I know when you think about it for 2 people that's a bargain but not if your not working and on a low pension. Also our TV UK Channels did not work and the shower had drainage problems and the airconditioning unit is not that good. But we had the maintenance guy up to fix the Shower and TV for a 4 star they should never give you basic shower,soap and shampoo and shower gel combined that rot your hair folicals as I beautician I know these things regarding products they need to go back to original methods of separate toiletries. Apart from that the good side is that the receptionists Karen and Amana are very helpful, the waiters/esses are good and as is the bar staff the prices of bar drinks are reasonable unless you go premium drinks. The food is ok but for a 2 hour gap it's not enough it needs to have a 3 hour eating gap. The last hour food is almost gone and not replaced. We had to ask for more Spanish local cheeses as English cheese was only available! People was using their bare hands to handle bread and raw products they should be a sign saying use the tongs provided but neither the reception and restaurant care about this particularly one receptionist said well we are not children are we it's beyond our control no it's not and they tell you to see the head waiter but they then send you to reception as Shirley did once who is the head waiterres. Food is not that hot but worth the money! But the breakfast and lunches need tweaking and changing everyday! The rooms are nice with great views and comfortable beds. The entertainment in the evening is ok but not the best! Car parking is good although we had to wait 2 hours before we could use it as they was chopping trees and we paid for that not good as told on arrival to go the Servigeoup Calypso hotel and park which is too far to walk for my partner who has had a stent put in after a heart attack and can't walk too far! It's location is not far from the beach and taxi rank and is downhill. It is a noisy area on the day but night time quite! Apart from that I think we didn't get our money's worth for October as I think they are upgrading rooms but down grading services and amenities! The Pool area is nice but the pool small and very cold but then again it is October. Next time which is in January we will be going to a better hotel we know of and use Servigroup Diplomatic hotel for our next anniversary unless things don't improve! It's not been a bad stay but not great either! We are members but not felt like we was treated as one!

Our stay in Room 1014 on the 10th floor had excellent views. Noise levels bad on a night if staying over the weekend due to lager louts and Brits abroAd!

Room quite satisfactory apart from problems with the Shower and English TV Channels that was fixed. But for a 4 Star Hotel NO TEA AND COFFEE Facilities!

Noisy brits on our last night on Friday meaning no sleep and the reception manager unsympathetic!

The restaurant selection has increased and porridge has been added to the list of foods available. But,But,But... Oh dear me the noise from the scraping from the chair legs is deafining and extremely upsetting this needs to be addressed as is people touching food with hands i.e. bread!

Karen and Amana the reception staff wonderful the reception manager unsympathetic as is the night staff especially the porter. The Bar staff are great and always chatty!

Entertainment in the evening was pleasant but the singers unclear!

Last night horrendous noise by drunken people shouting outside in the bar outside seating area and alomng the corridors plus the early shifting of furntiure all through out the night meant NO SLEEP!

Although our corridor doors were refurbished and excellent the reception area 9 pillars needs painting as it looks tatty!

Paying €200 a night near enough was expensive if you got no sleep. Won't be back to this particular hotel needs looking at other ones that know how to do things better within the Chain/Group of Servigroup.

Second time to stay at the Nereo and myself and my husband could not fault this hotel. It was spotless, room was lovely kept very clean and staff were helpful and polite.
