Sandos Benidorm Suites

Overall this was a lovely hotel, but we wouldn't return.

Pro's- The hotel is really nicely decorated, white and clean. The rooms are very spacious with a massive balcony, large sofa and aircon. Medium sized fridge/freezer which they provide a complimentary bottle of water in. There is a kettle in the room, but you need to get teabags milk etc from the bar.

Swimming pool was a good size. Very accessible friendly, gentleman during our stay used the lift into the pool. Can't smoke by the pool, have to sit up on the terrace which is fair enough.

Food was good for an all inclusive. More choice at Lunch compared to Dinner, which we did struggle to find things we liked. Cruzcampo on tap for all inclusive as well as wines, hot drinks and soft drinks. The bar has complimentary crips, nuts and cheese biscuits. Snack bar by the pool has kebab, burgers, toasties, chips. nuggets and pizza, which were all really good and easy.

Staff were all really kind and friendly.

The Indian restaurant was good, online has bad reviews but people forget its an all inclusive and not a gourmet restaurant. A set menu, but plenty of options.

Plenty of shops around. Titanic bar just round the corner was great for the football (World Cup), plenty of t.v.'s! Food was good and lovely staff.

We spent the day in Altea which I would highly recommend. Taxi is 18 euros each way or you can get the tram from the old town for a couple euros.

The beach is a 10/15 minute walk or a 6 euro taxi ride. Sunbeds were 6 euros and umbrellas were 6 euros, but worth it for the day! Sea is very clear and clean, plenty of fish! So bring your snorkels and wet shoes as can be rocky/slimey!

Con's- The worst was that the entertainment would be on until gone midnight and then music playing till 1am. You will not sleep easily, walls are paper thin and all rooms face pool/entertainment area! If you want a quiet night, this is not the hotel. We were shattered most days. Entertainment was pretty poor, rubbish singers or random quizzes, better off going out.

Be weary if you don't like heights, luckily we were on floor 7 but the hotel has 25 floors, and out on the balcony isn't comfortable!

Loud party music by the pool, same songs on repeat is rather annoying when trying to relax. Lifeguard complained at people using floats, said it was a drowning risk!?

We had a broken chair on our balcony that we asked to be changed on three separate occasions. Finally brought one and ended up giving us one from the bar?

Desserts were rather boring, same pastries every night, no fruity desserts which was a shame.

It states on the hotels information page that they do not accommodate hen/stag do's. Yet during our stay, there were two hens party's that were not turned away.

People would reserve sun beds from 08:00am, which they allowed.. we always managed to get some but often had to to find random ones scattered about. There was a lack of tables for drinks along the sun beds, people were practically fighting over them!

Overall the hotel was really nice, good location, lovely design but just too loud! If you don't mind the noise and like to stay up late, then this hotel would be alright.

Definitely not a 4 star hotel told to keep pool towels 3-4 days before changing them room safe key barely works without constant shoogling about, had to ask 3 times to get clean towels for the room was told we had a do not disturb on the door which we didn’t then had a cockroach run over the floor before they sent a maid in to clean the room, air con didn’t work, the lifts to the even number floors were constantly breaking

We are regular visitors to Sandos suites we always have a wonderful stay. The staff from reception bar and dinning room are so friendly and efficient. The one thing that we did like was their uniform green long sleeve shirts did not look good or comfy in hot weather. They looked like paramilitary personel. Get them back into turquoise blue and white, which is the Sandos image and logo.
