This lovely hotel is located in the wonderful gardens in the centre of Rincon de Loix, just 100 metres from the fine sand beach. The establishment is well situated for access to countless shopping facilities, restaurants, cafés, bars and nightclubs located just 2 km from the hotel. The centre of Benidorm is around 1. 5 km from the hotel while the nearest golf course about 8 kilometres away. Built in 1974, this 270-room hotel offers guests a multitude of facilities. Business travellers can take advantage of the well-equipped conference room while leisure travellers can spend their days by the poolside with a refreshing drink in hand. All guests may also enjoy the vast number of activities, like tennis and billiards, which this hotel offers. Guests are greeted by beautifully-furnished en suite rooms that come with necessary modern amenities .
Just got back from a week staying at Port Benidorm and I could not fault it. The hotel is beautiful and clean, rooms are spacious. Refurbished to a high standard. We stayed half board and for breakfast and evening meal the choice was vast.
Location is perfect, right by Lavante Beach.
Probably one of the best hotels I have stayed in.
Thank you for an amazing stay
Would highly recommend.
Stayed here for a week in August and have to agree with other reviewers. Reception staff are grumpy to the point where you feel like a burden. I queued to speak to a receptionist for 10 minutes and a Spanish man jumped in before me bypassing the queue to speak to her and she allowed it and ignored my protests. Not even an apology after I waited even longer while she giggled with him.
Cleaner came around just before 4pm everyday and spent no more than 2-3 minutes in the room. Food is passable but nothing special.
The refurbed rooms are nice but won’t wear well over time and daily use. It feels like cheapy Ikea furniture. Not for me at all!
I am currently staying at Port Benidorm, and overall the hotel is modern, clean and well maintained. The pool is a good size, and there are plenty of sunbeds available, which is a big positive.
The food selection, however, is fairly average. For a hotel of this size, I feel there should be a greater variety of options available.
The main reason I have rated the hotel 2/5 rather than 4 or 5 stars is due to the service from the bar staff. Earlier during my stay, I found chewing gum in a drink that had been served to me. I walked back to the bar and explained what had happened, but unfortunately there was no real apology or professional response — just a shrug of the shoulders.
I understand that mistakes can happen, but when you are spending nearly £1,000 on a holiday, you expect a certain level of customer service, manners and professionalism when something goes wrong. A simple apology and a more appropriate response would have made a big difference.
Overall, the hotel itself is good, but the standard of service from some of the bar staff has unfortunately let the experience down.
My partner and I have just returned from a week at this hotel and we’re unlikely to return.
We had a room in the new sky tower which was nice but this is the only good thing about this hotel. We didn’t use any facilities ( restaurant, bar, pool or spa because of the attitude of the staff).
I’ll start with the good points….
👍 The room is lovely, spacious and stylish. Although the glass on the balcony feels a bit unsafe.
👍 The Air Conditioning is AMAZING! Best we’ve encountered in a hotel.
👍 Great location!
👍 Towels are lovely.
👍 TV good with English channels.
Sadly there are more cons than positives…..
👎 Check in was extremely stressful. Around 50-60 guests camped out in reception at 2pm because rooms weren’t ready. It looks like an exclusive hotel but this wasn’t the case at all. People opening up cases in reception and changing clothes, eating burgers off paper plates and using foul language for over an hour.
👎 The lifts are an absolute nightmare. The lift took around 10-15 minutes to reach our specific floor. Sometimes the lift was so full we couldn’t get in and had to wait even longer.
👎 Reception has a strong smell of either sewage or toilet duck (used to mask the smell).
👎 The staff on reception are the rudest I’ve ever encountered in a hotel. Their attitude borders smug and cocky and goes beyond rude. Guests are treated like an inconvenience and I heard them mocking some guests in Spanish.
👎 The cleanliness in the room was very poor when we arrived and throughout our stay. Dust, hair and even pubic hair in the corners in the bathroom and shower. Beds not made properly. Pics attached.
👎 We were so put off by the staff we only ate in the Restaurant once during the entire stay (breakfast) the food was okay during our only visit but not enjoyable. Food was cold at 8:30am.
👎 We went to the roof terrace to take a look and were made to feel unwelcome. We didn’t order a drink as we felt uncomfortable there.
👎 We also felt uncomfortable is the basement studio bar as staff ignored us and made us feel unwelcome.
👎 Tea and coffee facilities in the room aren’t great. There should be a Nespresso machine in the room considering the star rating.
👎 No duvet covers, guest are expected to use duvets used by other guests. Ours has stains and hairs from previous guests.
👎 No toilet brush which is a hygiene issue.
👎 No enclosed wardrobe but a small rail and a few hangers for two people for a week.
It’s a shame as the hotel is beautiful!
We’ve just returned from a stay at Port Benidorm and overall we had a lovely holiday. There are definitely some things that could be improved, but there are also plenty of positives.
The positives: The location is excellent. It’s in a quieter area, which we really liked, but still close to the beach, shops, bars and restaurants, so everything is within easy walking distance. The hotel is very clean throughout, including the communal areas and pool area. Our room appeared to be one of the refurbished rooms and was modern, spacious and comfortable. The air conditioning was really good and we were pleased to have a fully enclosed bathroom, rather than the glass screen arrangement that some of the rooms have. The rooftop bar is lovely and definitely worth a visit. It’s a really nice space and has a great atmosphere. The daytime entertainment was also good, with plenty going on around the pool and a good atmosphere during the day.
The negatives: Unfortunately, some members of staff were quite rude and unhelpful, which was disappointing and took the shine off things on a few occasions. The biggest disappointment for us was the food. It was often cold, very repetitive and there wasn’t a huge amount of choice. Sadly, we felt the food really lets the hotel down because otherwise there is a lot to like about Port Benidorm. The evening entertainment was also disappointing and, in our opinion, nowhere near as good as the daytime entertainment.
Overall: We would still give Port Benidorm 4/5 because there are plenty of things we enjoyed, the location, cleanliness, room, pool areas, rooftop bar and daytime entertainment were all great. However, improvements to the food, evening entertainment and customer service would make a big difference and could turn this into a really excellent hotel. We would consider returning, but hopefully some of the issues will have been addressed by then.
