I always give an honest review.....here goes The hotel was not bad .it was clean The pool on the roof is quite cosy The girl who run the pool bar was excellent funny friendly 😄 The food was good but you had to be quick or it was cold there was a good choice but loads of Spanish dishes ... eggs in red sauce...oysters in brine ect The rooms are small we had superior suites apparently. With a luxury balcony that looked into a block of flats with motorbikes screaming past day and night And in the brochure it says 10 minutes to the beach ... yeh right if you walk like forest gump 😆 the only bad thing was the hotels location it was shocking up hills after hills There is nothing local for tourists it's a good 50 minutes walk to the town and about 1hr 20 to the square in the day it's 8 euro into town at night one of our team was charged 30 euros this is an honest lads holiday review
Highly recommend this hotel great location close to the beach. Excellent lovely cool breeze from the mountains close by
Hotel rooms were better than I expected, clean and spacious - we had a family room with 3 of us sleeping in it.
Air con unit in the rooms- not cold enough it was 35 degrees and the air con just didn't cut it - we was a group of 15 and every room was the same.
The swimming pool was tired and the beds could do with replacing, the sunbeds by the pool had zero parasols so I would not recommend coming here with small children. There were no shaded areas so this was extremely hot.
Pool bar was good - lady who was serving was lovely this was open every day we were there.
Hotel is a good 3 star, great for what we paid but wouldn't return.
Just returned from Hotel Olympus, I went with my husband and two adult kids, I did my research before but I should have paid more attention to the bad reviews. They are correct. As they all say it’s a long walk downhill to the beach and busier part of old town, which felt worse during the recent heatwave. Not the hotels fault of course but definitely worth knowing. We are all fit and happy to walk but it was still quite a trek all the time.
We went all inclusive, I would definitely NOT recommend this , the all inclusive keycards you get don’t work and we had to repeatedly go to reception to be reissued with another one which then didn’t work, one particular member of staff seemed to enjoy refusing to serve us even water ( during a heatwave) when the cards didn’t work, this really was not a pleasant experience when you are on your holiday. In the end we complained about this ( we don’t usually complain about things, after all things happen but this was ridiculous) and although the cards still didn’t work we did eventually get served without having to keep going to the front desk and wait inline to supposedly get it fixed.
The air conditioning in the room was awful, even on its strongest it barely cooled the air and was very noisy. The WiFi was terrible, constantly thrown off the connection, only place you can get it decent is in the bar and on the roof.
The roof top pool while pleasant enough, there was no shade whatsoever, so on the hottest days when you just wanted to cool down in the pool and in the breeze it was still too hot to sit up there. Sort this out, there must be ways to fix some kind of canopy safely up?
The food , while plentiful and tasty , was very much the same every day, other people say in reviews it’s very Spanish , I didn’t mind this as we were in Spain and was expecting it, it was just the same all the time. Most of the staff were lovely and greeted you with a smile , however a couple of them were just awful with miserable faces and a bad attitude, why work in a busy hotel if you dislike tourists? Not nice on your holiday to be spoken to so rudely. It wasn’t a language barrier just bad manners and attitude.
Overall it was clean and tidy with comfy beds but it started to get very busy when we were leaving so the dining rooming felt more manic , maybe make sure you eat out if you stay here, I think it’ll be a better experience. It’s definitely not what I’d expected from a 4* hotel.
Very quiet place 5 minutes to town in a taxi Food was very good lots of choice mainly caters for Spanish but not a problem no English entertainment but not far from main town drop off down a hill takes a good 15 minutes walk up a hill Lifts very slow Overall very very clean but take own tea coffee and cups
