Medplaya Agir Springs

Agir Springs Hotel was extremely disappointing and nowhere near the standard we expected in terms of cleanliness and maintenance. In fact, the room seemed to have been decorated according to the theme of “What Happens When Housekeeping Takes the Week Off?”

The floors were dirty and stained, there were hairs and debris scattered around, the furniture was marked, the walls were heavily stained, and the bathroom and shower appeared to have received only a very brief introduction to cleaning. There was also grime and deterioration around the shower area, along with dried residue on the walls that appeared to resemble bodily fluids — not exactly the sort of complimentary artwork anyone hopes to find in a hotel room.

The condition was so concerning that I didn’t feel it was safe or reasonable for me to stay there, particularly because I have a compromised immune system. We therefore had to leave and find somewhere else to stay, which was not quite the relaxing start to our holiday we had imagined. Nothing says “welcome to your break” like urgently searching for alternative accommodation.

This was not simply a case of the hotel being a little dated or the room not matching our personal taste. It appeared to have been poorly cleaned and maintained, and was well below the standard we expected from the listing and the price we paid.

We took photographs of the problems and made a formal complaint. Based on our experience, I would not recommend staying here unless the hotel makes major improvements to its cleaning, hygiene and maintenance. At the very least, the room needs a thorough clean, a serious inspection and considerably less “mystery residue.”

Hotel clean and tidy, staff very helpful, Alessandra one of the waitresses was exceptionally good, pleasant and very friendly. Breakfast terrible food cold either undercooked or overcooked not a great choice, only realised you could order poached eggs the day before we left, certainly not value for money. Roof top pool really small and very shallow around 3ft deep. Safe charged at 4 euros per day, pool towels 3 euro per day. Cleaner not very good at her job, floor dirty not always toilet rolls left and no hand towels on our last day. Very noisy on an evening and first thing in a morning with the bar next door putting tables and chairs out.
