Mareny Hotel, Benidorm.
Hotel Mareny was a really lovely place. Everyone in the hotel from "cleaning staff, barman, waiting staff in restaurant ( especially a man called Chema who couldn't have been more lovely and had a permanent smile on his face) to reception staff. It's one of the friendliest hotels we have stayed in. I wouldn't hesitate to go back there, the one and only problem is that we had to walk up the road that had an incline and we had to keep stopping to rest, after all we are both pensioners (70 & 81) lol. The food in the hotel was lovely and there was lots of choices. The beach was 6/7 mins away just down the road and there is an abundance of shops n restaurants.

Absolutely horrible
The hotel’s facilities and food do not correspond to a 4* rating, at most 3*. The food is bad, poorly seasoned, and cheap, mostly from cans with minimal variety. The ham at breakfast was hardly even ham, more like some kind of lunch meat. The only fresh item was watermelon; the rest of the fruit was canned. Between meals, there are collection boxes asking for tips for the kitchen staff. The rooms are outdated, and what is absolutely terrible is the booming sound that constantly echoes through the room, probably due to the pool pump on the 6th floor. The pool is very small, and the terrace looks like it’s from the 1960s. We will never return to this hotel; the price does not match the quality at all.

Great little hotel, quiet yet near to main area
Cracking little hotel in the Old Town just far away from hustle & bustle yet only a small walk away from Poniente Beach. The staff are very friendly, rooms are dated but beds are very comfy and had a huge balcony.. Plenty of food choices and Osmani in the bar is lovely..The hotel caters more for Spanish and I was always spoken to in Spanish (must be my dark looks) but Google Translate helped massively! The pool is small but the views are great & enough sunbeds. Beach is 2-3 minute walk away & Spar just round corner. I would come back here as suited my holiday..😊
Honest to Goodness Hotel Mareny
Honest to goodness 3 star hotel. un pretentious, not modern, yet all you need for a short trip is there. I had a 6 night B&B booking here...Good location, near to thee old town, lovely mas playa beaches, and the castille. Veery disappointed I wasnt allocated a room with a balcony, instead the window faced a tall grey high wall just 5 feet away, this was at room 109, so the curtains were kept closed. I realised that rooms with even numbers had balconies and were given to spaniards..which is NOT a fair policy at all. The room was a double twin, spacious ample storage spaces tv and aircon, a room safe was available at 5 euros per day with a 10 euro refund ...personally I always insist on a room safe and made use of this There was only one socket to use in the room, there was no fridge, and cost 4.5 euros per day, the bathroom was ok. Breakfast was definately a 3 star menu, good choices and well prepared Must say the staff in all areas were polite and cooperative at all times,and the duty manager was able promptly to provide additional sockets, and a fridge for my medications in gratis, this was really appreciated. Didnt bother with the rooftop pool..much preferred the beaches, bed and parasol were 6 euros each Yes | enjoyed my stay at the mareny, but would only go back if I was assured of a balcony /terrace next time Overall I had a happy stay there.
