I have to say the food rooms every where were clean and very well run. I was unwell on Thursday of this week and got up really early so I decided to go and get a spot by the pool.
The doors are closed until 830 so I was very near the front to get 2 beds there are some really lovely ones around the edge of the small pool. I would have been able to get one of these beds but there was a particular man who I watched from my balcony everyday sprint with about 8 towels to get all the nice beds. I was livid to see a Women who sat with them behind me in the line chuck her towels to him to save her the best spots. I did report this to the reception due to the unfair behaviour of this man, there are lots of elderly people who need a bed and I get one bed and got up at the crack of dawn to reserve it, but not like 7 or 8 beds. Shame the hotel allowed this behaviour I was informed by the receptionist she will report to the pool manager.
Pros and cons of the Ambasador Playa 2 Hotel
A hotel in a great location, featuring very tasty food and really nice rooms. The only issue is the lack of staff presence at the pools; no one pays attention to people smoking cigarettes or vaping on the poolside sun loungers. The same applies to people jumping into the pool—I suspect the problem will only be addressed once an accident unfortunately occurs, something I certainly do not wish to see happen.
Great hotel
We had a really enjoyable stay at the Ambassador Playa II and would definitely recommend it. The location is excellent, right in the centre of everything, with plenty of bars, restaurants and shops nearby, but surprisingly it doesn’t feel noisy at the hotel at all. We expected it to be much busier and louder given how central it is, so this was a real bonus. The food was excellent. There was lots of choice, the food was hot and there was a really good variety throughout our stay. This was definitely one of the highlights of the hotel for us. The staff were also friendly and welcoming, which always makes such a difference to your stay. The main negative for us was the sun loungers around the pool. They are packed far too closely together, you really are squashed in like sardines! 😂 There isn’t much space between the beds and it can feel very cramped. You also need to be up early if you want to secure a sun lounger, as they go very quickly. Other than the pool area being overcrowded, we had a great stay. The location, food and friendly staff really stood out and we would happily return.
Amazing
I had an amazing and lovely holiday. Thank you to Amanda and another lady who gave us amazing suggestions for trips to go on. I particularly enjoyed recommendations like Benidorm Salsa Club, Alicante, and Villa Joyasa. They gave us lots of details and easier ways to get there. The staff in the restaurant were also very nice
Great Stay at Ambassador Playa 2
We had a lovely stay at Ambassador Playa 2 and would definitely return. The hotel is clean, the pool areas are great, and the evening entertainment was really enjoyable. We had a pool view balcony, which I would highly recommend, as we could watch the entertainment from our balcony each night.
We stayed full board. Breakfast was good with the usual selection, lunch had plenty of great options, and dinner was decent, although there were a few evenings where nothing really appealed to us, so we chose to eat out instead.
A special mention goes to Juanjo, who greeted us in the restaurant every day. He always welcomed us with a smile, took the time to chat, and made us feel genuinely welcome and made us laugh. He is a fantastic member of staff and definitely made our stay even more enjoyable.
The only downside was the bar prices. Cocktails were expensive, which would have been fair if they were good, but they were served in plastic cups so they weren't fancy cocktails and they were not strong cocktails either. It was easy to spend €50-€80 throughout the day on drinks without really feeling like you were getting value for money. You wouldn't spend €50-80 on juice throughout the day. That’s my only real criticism of an otherwise excellent hotel.
Overall, Ambassador Playa 2 is a fantastic hotel with great facilities, friendly staff, and a brilliant atmosphere. We’d happily return.
