Not What it Was
I will start by saying the staff could not be better and for that the management should be grateful. The rooms are of a good standard and cleaning is adequate. This was my third visit and sadly my last. The prices this hotel charges it is not worth it. Since my last visit the dining in the evening has got really bad, the food is warm at best. In the evening the queue can be quite long to get into the restaurant as you have to be taken by a member of staff, depending on the time you go the food can be cool or not there at all. Breakfast is just about ok. They used to serve coffee in the morning now it comes from a machine with the Queue that involves. If you want tea you have to boil a kettle for hot water. I did speak to management while there and was advised the manager would get in touch, but that never happened and says it all. At best I would say if you have to stay there go bed and breakfast, otherwise give it a wide berth. Sorry can not recommend this hotel.

Return visit
We have just returned from our 10 th visit this time in 141 a corner room over looking the pool with a fantastic large wraparound balcony with chairs, table and a pair of lovely sunloungers the hotel was almost completely full this week but every day we had no problem getting a sunbed by the pool and even once used the pool on the top floor as there is a direct lift right near our room to the rooftop. breakfast is lovely with everything you could possibly want we liked to sit at the far end of the dining room where it was normally a bit quieter dinner was great we particularly enjoyed the gazpacho the different paella’s and the grilled meat and fish and on the Saturday night the young lady that was preparing the crepes to order . We left this morning the 11 th of October after breakfast, we used the pool every day in the last week as it was open from 9 am which is a change from the previous year’s which we found much better all the staff are lovely and helpful and we will return in the new year thanks
Best hotel in Calpe
Just had another wonderful week at the SolYmar. This was our second visit to this fabulous hotel and it won’t be our last. No complaints at all…….rooms perfect, food and drink excellent, friendliest staff, clean and sweet smelling constantly, must book sea views, they are magnificent. All in all a great holiday!

One of the best holidays we have ever had.
Totally superb hotel, in a fantastic location, excellent service throughout and spectacular views. We stayed at the Solymar for 1 week in a double seaview room and we were blown away at the views from our balcony with the beautiful sight of Ifach and the beaches. Our room was very spacious and comfortable, cleaned every day and we stayed on the 7th floor, so quite high up. Breakfast, as everyone else says is fantastic and there is so much choice, plus you get fantastic views from the restaurant windows. All staff in the departments we encountered were very friendly, pleasant and attentive. Reception staff were superb and helpful right from our arrival. We never used the beach bar area across from the hotel, as we always ventured up to the roof terrace each day, which was much quieter and again the views were breathtaking. Our only slight criticism would be the lack of drawer space in the room and the mini bar fridge was not cool enough, not a major problem, but worth mentioning. When it came time for us to leave, we were presented with 2 picnic boxes, as we had a very early start, but gave the boxes and most of their contents back, as there was too much in them for us. We had a fantastic stay and very memorable and we are already looking to return in 2027. Thanks to everyone for a great stay.
