The family-friendly bungalow complex is situated in the village of Santo da Serra, where guests will find shops, restaurants, several local bars, a church, a bakery, a pharmacy, a hairdresser's, bus and taxi facilities and a petrol station. There is also a park, famous for its variety of endemic flora, and a viewing point from which guests can see Machico's valley, Ponta de São Lourenço and Porto Santo island on clear days. Machico beach is approximately 9 km from the complex and the city of Funchal is roughly 22 km away. Madeira Airport is around 8 km from the bungalow complex.
A beautiful example of a 'quinta', owned by the same family for decades, this hotel is situated 670 m above sea level, in the village of Santo da Serra, between Santa Cruz, Machico and Funchal. For the purpose of accommodating visitors, the estate has been developed and chalets and self catering semi-detached cottages have been built in the surrounding gardens. The bungalow complex now offers 28 accommodation units and facilities include a hotel safe and a TV lounge.
Each room features an en suite bathroom with a shower and bathtub, a kitchen with fridge, cooker, microwave and tea and coffee making facilities, and a private balcony or terrace. Other in-room amenities include a direct dial telephone, Internet access, a safe, ironing set and central heating.
A few minutes walk away, guests will find the fantastic Santo da Serra golf course, home to a PGA tournament. The nearby beach is rocky.

Fab Holiday
We stayed here for a week and had a great time. The apartment was very well set up, clean, tidy and staff visited on a regular basis. The views are lovely too with garden areas with chairs to sit and relax. Everything has been well thought out. The kitchen had all the facilities. Nice touches too like washing up liquid, scourers, cloths etc. I usually end up buying this sort of thing. The local shops are well stocked and very handy and there are a few local restaurants too. The local bus service runs every couple of hours. Another review on this forum was very helpful. Definitely worth getting the SAM local bus app. It's nearly a two hour bus drive in to Funchal but worth it for the views. We hired a car for a day to see other parts of the island. The bus also stops at Machico and this is a lovely place too. The staff at the apartments could not have been more helpful. Their local knowledge was so useful and they organised the car hire too which was very reasonable. If you are looking for a beautiful place to stay and peace and quiet, this us the place to stay. Fantastic stayed high in the mountains
We stayed at Quinta Santo Antonio da Serra six nights and it was quiet, comfortable and cozy. It gets a little bit chilli in the nigth but you can enjoy a nice fire place! You are surrended by a beautiful garden and the view to the mountains is breathtaking. The nearest supermarket is in Machico and you will find all you need. The location at the Quinta is strategic if you are planing to do different tracks in the area. From there you can drive to multiple trekking starts. Paulo will welcome you and make sure you have all you need. We highly recommend this place!

Excellent appartements in the mountains
Quinta de Santo Antonio da Serra is beautifully located next to the quiet mountain village Antonio da Serra. The two-story appartment we stayed in had absolutely everything: it was nicely furbished, sparkling clean, well-equipped kitchen, a veranda with a beautiful view of the garden and the mountains, very comfortable beds, 2 bathrooms, a fireplace, good parking. The appartment was also serviced every day with new towels etc when needed. The hosts were super-friendly and very accomodating. It really couldn't be better! We had an very relaxing and enjoyable stay and can highly recommend it.

A pleasant surprise in the middle of nature Excellent accommodations! Impeccable service. Cozy and comfortable rooms. Close to Restaurants and Markets. A few minutes from Funchal (15 minutes). I'll be back for sure!
Nice location
This was a second choice as my preferred place was fully booked. It is high up in ghe hills with beautiful surroundings. Check in needs improving. Nobody at the office and had to use an international roaming call to get someone with a voicemail. I was very close to finfing another place to stay. Not satisfactory at all. However when j got to the unit it was very satisfactory. Good clean nice facilities and a beutuful log fire. Overall stay was good. Staff friendly. Recommended.
