This charming hotel is situated directly beside the sea on the south coast of Madeira, just 50 m from the wonderful beach. From its cosy rooms guests can enjoy stunning view over the crystal blue Atlantic as well as of the picturesque village of Ponta do Sol. The surrounding area houses a number of shopping facilities and entertainment venues, while the coffee shops and bars that line the promenade are the perfect final destination for a leisurely evening stroll. The venue itself also boasts an air-conditioned restaurant with a spacious terrace where one can sample delicious seafood, sip white wine and enjoy the mesmerizing views and the soothing breezes. When the weather isn't that great the venue has its guest's well-being taken care off with the heated indoor swimming pool and the massage services it offers.

Good location problematic for driving travelers, poor maintenance
Very disappointing for a 4-star hotel
Unfortunately, this hotel did not meet the standard we expected from a 4-star property.
The biggest issue is the lack of parking. It’s a wonderful location but this is a rural hotel with no public transportation and no realistic parking options nearby. The parking area was already full by 4:00 PM, which is unacceptable given the hotel’s location.
The facilities were also disappointing. The gym has only three machines, one of which was broken, and there is no air conditioning or drinking water. The sauna was out of order as well.
Housekeeping was below standard. A stained towel was not replaced, and no additional bottled water or tea bags were provided when the room was serviced.
Breakfast was good, but the dinner buffet was very poor and should be avoided as there are several restaurants within a short walk, which are much better alternatives.
The smart TV had many channels, but there was no option to use streaming services such as Netflix.
The noise was the final straw. We were warned there might be “some noise” due to celebrations, but not that a rave with a DJ would continue until 4:00 AM for three nights. The music was extremely loud, and we eventually left the hotel earlier than planned.
Overall, a very disappointing experience and not a hotel I would recommend.

Amazing and very recommended for gluten free (no APC)
We had a very good experience at this hotel, where we spent 2 nights. In particular, my wife, who has coeliac disease and needs gluten-free food, received the best treatment we have ever had in Portugal.
In the morning, the chef was perfectly aware of her special needs. He made sure she found two different cakes in a dedicated area with a clear gluten-free sign (also available to other guests) and prepared fresh gluten-free banana pancakes for her.
The hotel is perfectly located right in front of the beach, with an indoor pool that is ideal for a swim after trying the sea of Madeira, which is not exactly a paradise for swimming. It also features a nice terrace with sunbeds to relax on and a mini spa.
The room was spacious, comfortable, and clean.
This place is highly recommended for your stay while exploring the island.

Awesome seaside location!
We had a great overnight stay here, wish we could’ve stayed longer! The location is superb, right on the ocean front within minutes walk of all the major sights of Porto do Sol. Small markets and eateries just out in front of the hotel. There is a good, free, secure parking area beneath the hotel. Our room was huge, bright, and airy with beautiful ocean views. Everything was clean and comfortable. We had a small fridge, smart TV, and good internet connection. The buffet breakfast was excellent, pretty much everything you could ever want, plus some. We made use of the fitness room one morning and found it to be very basic, barely useable. There were two pieces of cardio gear, plus a very poorly maintained cable multigym, and a few random dumbbells of up to 8kg – and not even matching pairs! One of the highlights was the rooftop terrace which has comfortable seating and deck chairs/umbrellas where you can enjoy the sea views in the evening sunlight. Overall we had an amazing stay and would definitely recommend this place to other travelers.

Nice location, good hotel
Nice hotel in a quiet location. Ideal if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle of Funchal. Our room was clean and spacious but I was surprised that our balcony was not cleaned during our stay. Pigeon poop! The breakfast was generally good with a wide selection of which to choose from. We ate dinner in the restaurant once, it was ok. I thought the idea of 'Show Cooking' is that the food is cooked for you while you wait, but we just had two previously cooked steaks warmed up in front of us! Bit bizarre. Sun Spot Cafe was our go to place. Lovely food and great view. We also walked the Levada Moinho & Nova. Steep walk to the start of these, but worth it. Be wary booking the hikes through MB Tours. Ours got cancelled at the top of Pico Do Arieiro before we had even started the paid for trail. Communication was not great and some people in our group were not in the best of health to be taking on a hike like this. Overall we did enjoy our stay

An exceptional hotel
Thank you to Celia (with an accent) for a memorable stay in early October (Room 403). Special thanks to the lady breakfast chef whose omelettes are properly cooked and presented . It is not often to find a hotel where all the staff are kind and helpful.
Hope to stay again one day.
