Madeira is synonymous with stunning views and landscapes, and if you want to see them for yourself, why not try the Baía Madeira Hotel Ocean Beachfront at Machico? Set against the spectacular mountains and looking out over the ocean, the Baía Madeira Hotel Ocean Beachfront is an incredible setting for a hotel, and Machio is a wonderful venue for a Madeira holiday.
Holidaying in Machico will put you right in touch with the authentic Madeira. Machico is a quiet setting – but full of colour, culture and history. The old church and forts are well worth a visit – and are excellent places to sit back and take in the wonders of old and new Madeira.
The area is as popular with walkers as it is with swimmers and sunbathers, and a tour of the fine local restaurants is also highly recommended.
Although, don't forget, this is an all-inclusive package, so you'll want to leave plenty of room for your meal back at the Baía Madeira Hotel Ocean Beachfront. And the experience is certainly something special. The exceptional menu and exhilarating sea view will add lustre to any meal. Those views are a feature of the comfortable twin and double rooms too. Twin/double side seaview rooms are comfortably furnished with a private bathroom. Facilities include direct dial telephone, air-conditioning/heating, satellite/cable TV, personal safe (at a fee). Bayview rooms and club seaview rooms with a balcony are available at a supplement.
Machio is also well placed for anyone wanting to experience a little more of Madeira. The convenient local bus runs a regular service to the capital, Funchal. And if you're content to stay closer to home, there is the new Machico beach to enjoy as well as a host of facilities back at the Baía Madeira Hotel Ocean Beachfront.
Every day can have a distinctly different flavour – one day the heated seawater pool and drinks at the bar perhaps; another a relaxing wander about town, then a lavish meal; another a new hair-do before the evening entertainment begins, courtesy of your hosts at the Dom Pedro Madeira.
Madeira is full of beautiful sights, but none more beautiful to the new traveller than the sight of the Baía Madeira Hotel Ocean Beachfront nestled in the shadows of the mountain, and gazing out over the deep, blue sea.
This hotel offering All-Inclusive holidays, is on the east coast of Madeira at Machico. Standing between the mountains and the ocean overlooking a new sandy beach, it is close to the old fishing port. Baía Madeira Hotel Ocean Beachfront is about 15 miles from Funchal and there is a regular bus to and from the island's capital.
A very comfortable stay at this hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Amazing location with stunning views over the bay. Very close to the centre of the town and it’s beaches. Generous 60’s style spacious building. A big bonus was the outdoor pool which although a little chilly in February provided a wonderful swim after a long day walking in the mountains.
Stayed here for 6 nights and can only praise the place for our excellent stay. To start with the price was very competitive and when we arrived check in was quick and simple. The staff throughout were amazing and with any mention from us that I celebrated my Birthday during our stay, we came back on the actual day to a bottle of bubbly and a local Birthday cake, a lovely touch, unexpected and very much appreciated for which I'd like to thank the team. Our booking included breakfast which was always very good, lots of choice, always fresh and the restaurant staff were amazing at turning things around quickly and efficiently. The hotel location is super central and the local Uber typr taxis, known as bolt were super cheap to and from the airport, in fact much less than local public transport. All in all we had an amazing stay and would definately come back to this wonderful hotel with great staff, excellent facilities and clean rooms.
Noisy you could hear every conversation and other activities through the Wall The cleaning station must have been outside our door as we could hear them every morning 🙄
Location is peaceful with magnificent views, walks and a slower pace. The price is competitive and the meal plan is worth the extra money - delicious fresh food. Call the front desk and ask for Francisco a kind local taxi driver for trip to Funchal or airport run. The local Cam bus can take you many places on the cheap as well. The charming chapel near the property surprised me on a Wednesday night with a beautiful church service with the local Machico residents singing like angels! The hotel is dated is areas but the positives make up for this. Till next time Madeira - I just may retire on your beautiful island, God willing. Lynn - USA
We certainly think the hotel should be rated higher than 3 stars. Our experience was wonderful. The room was extremely spacious and comfortable as well as clean. The maid service was very very good. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We only took bed and breakfast for this stay and there was plenty of choice from fresh produce and a fairly good cooked choice if you wished. This is our third stay at the Dom Pedro Machico in the last eight years and it hasn't disappointed us yet. We highly recommend this hotel.
