- Turim Santa Maria Hotel

The TURIM Santa Maria hotel has 92 rooms, all with magnificent views, characteristic of this natural beauty that is the island of Madeira. Inside the hotel, the client can enjoy four distinct spaces of restaurant and bar, two of them located in the rooftop of the building, where there is also an outdoor swimming pool.
The modern, cosmopolitan and rejuvenated city of Funchal is inserted in this grandiose natural amphitheatre.
Situated in the south of Madeira Island, on the sunniest coast set in the middle of the banana plantations and the wonderful gardens where flowers bloom all year round. Funchal is a thriving and relaxed city during the day with a vibrant and eclectic nightlife.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
The room was decent suze with private valcony with great view., extremely clean and comfortable. Fridge and coffee. ALL of the front desk staff, special mention and thanks to Carolina, were so kind, helpful, spoke great English, and customer oriented. Housekeeping staff efficient and sweet. The hotel is situated in an extremely convenient center of town, walking distance to so many great restaurants and attractions etc. Breakfast was incredible, fresh, huge variety of breads, fruits, hot dishes, beverages which they kept an ample supply refilling as necessary. Tons of seating and very customer friendly Breakfast staff. Used the pool only once, LOVED IT and the bar/café next to it..beautiful views in every direction. Internet very good.. Great shower, great lighting. Stayed a total of 9 days, wish it was 9 weeks.
Very well located hotel in Funchal near the cable 🚠 car to Monte Palace Gardens and the Port. The hotel feels quite new and is very clean. Staff are helpful and friendly. Breakfast is very good with a lot of choice. The room was spacious with fridge. It would be better if there were two armchairs in the room so we could both sit and relax. The rooftop bar has great views but needs some plants and some sofas to make it feel more relaxed and comfortable.
Located on a nice street, about a 10-15 min walk to the main tourist areas in Funchal, uphill on the way back. Overall I cannot fault this hotel, the standard room we had was large with a balcony, a separate seating area , desk and a sofa. The two single beds joined together were comfortable and the bathroom was large with a wonderful rainfall shower. The only improvement to the room as we stayed for a week was more cupboard and wardrobe space. The breakfast was good quality and well stocked with the usual continental offering. Reception staff were always on had, spoke good English and were friendly and helpful. The hotel has a rooftop bar with a small pool for a dink in the evening and a good view.
Had the pleasure of staying 8 nights and really enjoyed our stay. We had a lov ely room on the sixth floor overlooking the road but it offered great views of the cable cars and mountains. Reception is nice and all the staff we interacted with were excellent. There is also a lovely large bar on the same floor. The breakfast room is really in the basement but very bright and large and always tables available. The breakfast choice was large with great variety and very good food quality Our bedroom was spotlessly clean , large with good quality bedding a balcony with chairs and table. In the room a large TV, table and chair,Tea and coffee. Bathroom was a reasonable size . with a very good large shower. The pinnacle for the hotel is the rooftop with a lovely large terrace with sunbeds and a good sized swimming pool. There is also a really nice bar on the rooftop. This was our first visit to Funchal (May 14 to 23) and we hope to return next year and stay here again
I was there for 5 nights and I enjoyed the hotel. It's a 4-star hotel, not a 5 star, so for 4 stars its pretty good. I would like to give a higher score as the rooms are nice and clean and the location is great and pretty quiet, considering how busy Funchal can get. Unfortunately, the internet was very unreliable on the fifth floor, so if you are there for business this is quite frustrating. Also, the breakfast buffet is OK, but the coffee and fruit juices are pretty terrible. I hope they can fix these issues, if so, I will be back.
