My experience
I was recently in this hotel and I liked hotel and room are beauteful and breakfast was very taste and rooms are quite and it's possible to rest but the swiming pool was very cold and they didn't want to heat the pool even if oursite was 21degrees and when I asked to make it little warmer they said isn't possible even when they talked with director on my request,was refused my request and that is very frustraiting when customers pay so expensive for hotel and stuff try to save money not to heat the pool waiting the pool will get warmer from sun and for this I woudn't recommend this hotel because I can get sick from cold weater and they don't care just to save money.
Dreaming to stay is less than the reality...
I choose to stay at The Vine hotel in Funchal for 3 days holidays.I know i paid pretty more money than similar others hotels of the same category as i was impressed of the pictures and the site of that hotel and of course as advertised that the architecture of the hotel was by the famous Ricardo Boffil with his team...Nowhere in the hotel there is shown any relationship with this architecture but anyway the design was remarkable in many places at the hotel.Also the breakfast was nice... The quite negative of the hotel is that the building of the hotel is attached to a shopping Mall and arriving to our room we were informed that construction works were in progress and there was an unacceptable strong noise of the compresseurs and during 9 am to 8pm.Complaining about that situation after a long and not a so gently behaviour of the front desk ...we moved after 2 hours to a suite at the opposite side of the construction. Anyway we had a bad situation in this hotel that made us quite non happy.

fridge is bearly working, furniture are smashed all over the corners it is really not looking 5 stars experience. Bath is smashed inside and on edges. I don’t think it is even health and safety. We ask for extra duvet we get it without any duvet cover like for a dog… what if we sleep under separate duvet. If we ask for something like that in 5 star hotel should be done in a better way. Without me need to think and stress about it. For a 5 star hotel you are missing a 5 star impression. Room quality is better on a picture than in reality. Used and smashed things should be replaced. It is not looking good. Hair dryer don’t do hot air no point to use… reception staff terrible behavior on 02.06 10-7 construction works noice. No sorry, no help,, you are not the only and complaining’’… we heard from them really! That’s the solution in 5 star hotel, that’s how you treat your customers. No sorry no how I can help you, no change of room, really nothing. coffe machine in restaurant really pooworking, crashing all the time so slow.4-5 people in a Menu set up in Portuguese they should change for guests for English. Customer service lots to improve…
