Stayed here the 3rd week in May. Arriving on a very late flight our check-in was around 2am. A 4 star hotel lived up to our expectations. Fine room with a sea view. A friendly and good natured staff made the stay very comfortable. Opting for half board both breakfast and evening meals were truly varied and enjoyable. A nice touch at a reasonable price of €7.50 for a takeaway packed lunch. A good location for heading down to the town centre and marina which is about 15 to 20 minute stroll. If taking a taxi use bolt for a very competitive rate of approximately €5 to €6.
TIPS: Take lift down to car park at rear of hotel. To Exit, walk down outside ramp passing barrier. Shortens walk to town centre. If you book tour / day trips at reception cash only! Used Revolut at hotels ATM charged 2.8 % for withdrawal
Very nice hotel with a great view, within walking distance of Funchal. Breakfast and buffet were amazing. It has a nice spa and beautiful pool area. Lunch dishes can be better. Overall a lovely stay.
We stayed at this hotel from June 12 to June 22. The hotel is beautifully situated on a hill in Funchal. We had a room with a sea view. The rooms are fine and clean, and the view of Funchal and the sea is beautiful. The swimminbg pool is very nice situated. The beds are fine, as is the extensive breakfast every morning. We used the dinner buffet twice, and that was also very good and extensive. The staff is friendly and helpful if desired. In short, a great hotel with excellent service.
I have nothing but praise for this hotel. From the moment we arrived until we left we were amazed at how good this hotel is. The room was spacious and very clean, no views of the sea or the mountains but it really didn’t matter! The towels were changed daily and the bed made up (very comfortable bed it was too) The buffet food served at breakfast and dinner was delicious, varied and often replenished and never cold. The service staff were engaging, smiling and very welcoming. There were 4 of us and they reserved a table we liked for the views over the sea, for us every evening. The evening entertainment was superb and more professional than we were expecting. In particular we loved a trio with a saxophonist who played and sang Summertime so well it moved me to tears. Bravo! The pool area was spotless with quality sun loungers and umbrellas. No loud music was played and the grill area was just beside it and was very handy for leaving the sun beds for a delicious lunch and cooling drink, I recommend the hamburger and fries! The servers here were also friendly, engaging and fun. We were very lucky to visit in June which meant we could watch the Atlantic Festival fireworks from the sun deck with a free glass of champagne to add to the enjoyment of such a fabulous display. The receptionists went out of their way to help with any queries or problems. Parking was never a problem and the road to and from the hotel wasn’t as steep as expected. On our last night we had to leave the hotel at 3.55am. We were offered breakfast from 2.30am which we accepted and just the 4 of us were able to enjoy the cold buffet (plus toast) at such an early hour. We all agreed that Madeira is wonderful and returning to The Views Bahia each evening after a day of exploring in our hire car, was a joy to look forward to. Thanks for the memories and we will definitely come back to stay in this lovely hotel (5* in my opinion!)
The food was excellent. Very nice and helpful staff. Room service was excellent. The location is a bit off if you want to be close to restaurants and swimming in the ocean
