Madeira holiday
We had a pleasant stay overall, with the biggest positive being the fantastic location. The views are lovely, and the pool area is excellent, with plenty of sunbeds available. The pool staff were always friendly and helpful, and the reception team were equally welcoming and efficient whenever we needed assistance.
The hotel itself is a little dated and could benefit from some refurbishment. It’s built into the side of a cliff and spread across three sections, each with its own lift. Unfortunately, the lifts seemed to have problems every day during our stay. If you’re fit and mobile, it’s manageable, but anyone with mobility issues may find it challenging.
Housekeeping was the biggest disappointment. On several occasions, fresh towels weren’t provided, and one day the beds weren’t made at all. While these issues didn’t ruin our holiday, they did let the overall experience down.

Great hotel in excellent location
From the minute we arrived the staff were courteous and helpful. The hotel is very clean and the public areas are furnished to a high standard. Facilities are very good although I would suggest some work is needed to revitalise the tennis court and mini golf as they are a bit run down. We had a family suite which was spacious and very comfortable. Decor was lovely and although we had a city view you couldn't hear any noise from the street so the soundproofing must be good! Easy to get into Funchal on buses in 5 mins or a 10 to 15 minute walk. Breakfast was plentiful and there was lots of choice. Staff work hard to keep everything running smoothly and constantly filled. Overall we had a fantastic stay and would recommend. Loved Madeira and will definitely return.

Had a great stay at this hotel. It’s in a great spot not far from Funchal. We walked in to town a couple of times and got a cab back. It felt like quite a long walk back with an 8 year old from the other end of town.
There’s lots around the hotel in terms of bars and restaurants. It’s a nice area in its own right without having to go into town.
We stayed half board & the food was good. There are so many restaurants around & found them all reasonably priced, I probably wouldn’t stay half board again, but I guess it depends how much extra it’s costs.
The hotel is really clean & well looked after. The pools are great & swimming in the sea was highly enjoyable.
We stayed in a junior suite which was fantastic and had views over the pool to the sea.
Would definitely stay again.

Wonderful!
My parents used to take us on holiday to this resort every year as kids as they had a timeshare. Fast forward 15 years and we returned to stay in the hotel. Knowing how much this place means to my family, my partner took the opportunity to propose on the rooftop. The hotel staff were so kind in letting us use it and even provided bubbles and strawberries to celebrate the occasion. Can not thank them enough, talk about going the extra mile, thanks again for everything.

Great location, great facilities, great service!
Great location on the seafront in Funchal. Easy check-in with reception staff who are informative and friendly. Help with luggage is always available and luggage storage should you arrive early. Vacation club rooms are well equipped and comfortable with fabulous sea views and harbour views on the higher floors. The hotel offers a selection of restaurants, pools (indoor and outdoor) and bars. Staff throughout the hotel genuinely seem happy to work there and always greet you when passing by. Cleaning staff are thorough in the rooms and throughout the hotel. Pool staff are always in attendance for umbrellas and the weather forecast for the day. We've stayed in this hotel many times over the last few years and we highly recommend it. Plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance from the hotel without having to walk into Funchal, Pub number 2, Bar Ilha and Prince Albert being among our favourites. Central Funchal and the harbour front is within walking distance should you want more variety. Uber and Bolt are available and are much cheaper than yellow cabs.
