Again, rooms are uniquely furnished – all very tastefully – giving a real sense of this not being a hotel just like any other. All spacious twin and double bedded seaview rooms have a well-equipped bathroom, balcony and kitchenette with a fridge and kettle. Rooms also feature cable TV radio and telephone. An in room safe is available at a fee payable locally. The Pestana Ocean Bay directly overlooks the ocean in a peaceful location just three miles to the west of Funchal. Classified as a beach resort, the hotel is on the beautiful bay of Praia Formosa backed by cliffs. The tranquil gardens contain a spectacularly situated pool area and give direct access to the sea.

Fantastic staff
Relaxing, wonderful 2 weeks at thos Hotel. The food was excellent and so was our room. The view across the ocean is fabulous. Most of all the staff are exceptional and did everything possible to make us feel welcome and to make our holiday special. Can't wait to return.
Wonderful stay at a wonderful island
We had a wonderful stay at the hotel and truly felt at home. What made our experience so special was the staff, who were incredibly kind, professional, and always made us feel welcome and comfortable. I would especially like to thank Manuela Garanito from the restaurant. Her passion and dedication for the guests were evident in everything she did. She is doing an outstanding job together with her colleagues, and this is a real asset to the team.

Amazing location and super friendly staff!!!
The hotel location is perfect! Although the rooms are a bit outdated and the entrance has not the best looks, there is a nice large pool with a quieter pool area, meals are lovely and there was a variety to suit all tastes, including a bbq day which was great and the views are perfect. Entertainment was nice and not over the top, staff are super friendly and makes you feel comfortable, especially the lovely Manuela Granito who made the birthday boy feel super especial. Massive thank you and definitely recommended 😊
Good food great staff
We had a wonderful stay at this resort. The property was beautiful, clean, and very well maintained. The staff were welcoming, professional, and always willing to help, making us feel valued throughout our stay.
The room was spacious, comfortable, and spotless, with everything we needed for a relaxing vacation. The food was always plentiful and good quality, offering a wide variety of options at every meal. The pools and common areas were also immaculate, and there were plenty of activities to enjoy.
The location was ideal, with easy access to the beach and stunning views. Overall, the resort exceeded my expectations in every way. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway, and I would gladly return in the future.

Hotel is off the main road but we think value for money, rooms are comfortable, clean and staff very friendly good atmosphere, evening entertainment was good too. Food available all day long! Quick breaks for cleaning then back with more Food! and drinks alcohol and non alcohol included in all inclusive, cocktails were 👍🏻 cubra libre my favourite 👍🏻 you can ask for less alcohol!! They top up well 🫨 Location is great just outside Funchal centre but courtesy bus a couple of times a day or local buses easy really easy to navigate and set fee, you can walk to Funchal via foot tunnel from hotel we took over an hour But we stopped a few times for the view and to go down the cliff where available. We took the yacht rather than the catamaran for a sea trip and it was perfect not too many people and drinks were included 👍🏻 YES we see dolphin right up to the boat they came to us, not the yacht invading their space and flying fish, they travel quite far!. We were very lucky with the cable car 🚡 10am Saturday and no queue. We did buy our tickets online before so straight to the entrance gate 👍🏻. Then the toboggan down, wow exhilarating but a smooth ride we then walked down the rest to the bottom YES a steep walk but as an unfit retiree I made it 35mins no problem 😉. We will be back Madeira
