The Cliff Bay is a true 5 star Hotel with fantastic places to eat including the magnificent 2 star Michelin Il Gallo d Oro restaurant which this year due to refurbishment was down on the pier next to the sea and is an incredible experience .The staff are really professional and friendly and truly care for there guests which is why like ourselves so many people are returning guests.

There is no reason not to stay here. We stayed for15 nights this time and already plan to stay longer next summer1

Excellent Holiday Hotel
First visit and hopefully not our last at this impressive Funchal hotel. It had everything we would wish for in a holiday destination with it’s comfortable suites, excellent facilities, top class dining options and very helpful staff. It was also within walking distance of Funchal’s centre with all it’s shops, restaurants and attractions which was an added bonus. Would be our number one option for any future return visit.

Excellent service, rooms, pool, breakfast, bar. Sister hotel is good but not outstanding. Sea access is brilliant for early swims. Hot food at breakfast needs improvement (cold poached eggs, overcooked omelette, under cooked waffles) but everything else was excellent. Staff at breakfast were PERFECT balance of friendly and professional. Views are stunning. Staff at infinity pool were faultless. Pool itself was lovely. Good at Avista restaurant was pretty good. Rooms are very high standard.
