Great hotel located in old town Funchal
Right the heart of old town, you have access to everything in less than 10 mn by foot - the ocean, the harbor, the cable cars. Very calm, clean room. Friendly team.
One raise the bar: would have been great to be advised that the mini fridge only works when the hotel key is left in. SO please ask them when you check in to make sure you can use the mini fridge.
Breakfast was ok. AC worked well. Would stay there again for sure! The price was decent - Book direct.

Disappointed in aervice
I have been asking for water for the room for 5 days. In the evening apparently no one can provide this as they have no housekeeping. They say they will provide in the morning and then they never do. Shame as otherwise good place.
Hotel Madeira fab review!
We had a really good time at Hotel Madeira just got back. The location is great, the staff friendly (especially Betty and Yashi and Louish). Rooms great, breakfast everything you want. Rooftop pool and bar fabulous! Good cocktails happy hour too. Great prices had food there few times too 😋. Would definitely return to Funchal, lots to do and see - we did Monte Palace, one of the Levada walks (3hours). Lots of shops too. Recommend Hotel Madeira if you go 👍 from J & A

I had an amazing experience at Hotel Madeira! The location is unbeatable—right in the center of Funchal, making it super easy to explore the city on foot.
The rooms were spotlessly clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. We especially loved the pool area—it was the perfect spot to relax and unwind after a full day of sightseeing. Everything was lovely, and the overall atmosphere was very welcoming.
