It is well-equipped and maintained and is convenient for a selection of bars, restaurants and good shopping.
I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights during my time in maderia, booked an apartment facing the front of the hotel, and the Atlantic Ocean, the centrally located in funchal , with plenty of restaurants, bars and shops nearby. Check-in was quick and easy, the receptionist was very friendly and explained everything to me. The apartment was huge, with a bedroom, sitting room and mini kitchen and balcony overlooking the front and the sea . Breakfast was served on the top floor of the hotel, it wad buffet style, with plenty of choice to choose from , you could have your breakfast inside or outside if you wish overlooking the sea. All the staff that I encountered was friendly, happy, and professional. Nothing was to much trouble. Wanted a massage in the hotel spa, but unfortunately it wad closed all the time during my stay. I would return to the hotel in the future next time I am in funchal.
We stayed for 2 weeks at the Views. Check in was smooth, quick & friendly. The apartment was spacious and roomy, Shower was fabulous, very clean &well looked after. We had a queen size bed, a lovely kitchen area, and a good sized balcony. We booked breakfast, lots to choose from, very fresh & tasty. The pool area was spotless, always beds available & a lovely pool I used the spa which I loved. Only criticism, we had to find the indoor pool & jacuzzi, badly signed. When we found the indoor pool, it was lovely. Great location, bus stop across the road. Lots of restaurants & cafes . Beside the Lido & a beautiful walk along the promenade. If you turn right , there is a small local supermarket 5 mins away, lot cheaper than the Spar shop beside hotel. (Definitely try the cake shop in the same direction, scrumptious fresh cakes.)
Staff are extremely helpful & friendly. We can't wait yo go back
Love this hotel right on one of the main roads in Funchal. Service is great and the breakfast buffet easily compares to those in five star hotels I have stayed at. You can take a bus from the airport to the hotel for six Euros one way and it will drop you off at the doorsteps to the hotel. This hotel will be closing for a complete makeover early next year.
Great location for visiting Funchal but the hotel did not have all the amenities offered, e.g. the gym was next door in the shopping mall and had a strict access policy. I forgot to take a towel so they would not let me in. There were no instructions in the hotel room about how to access the gym either which would have been helpful. It wasn't open until 9am - not very good if trying to get a gym session in before breakfast finished at 10.30am.
The breakfast buffet was adequate, but if you were not there by 9.30am, items had run out and not replaced even though breakfast was supposed to be until 10.30am. I asked one day for a banana, and they did not have any good ones, only damaged ones available. My husband said the toasting bread was poor quality as well as the “butter” or some sort of spread.
The Wi-Fi was poor, and they asked for a 50 euros deposit for a Wi-Fi router for our room, which also didn't work, so we returned it and got our money back. The Wi-Fi was on and off most of the holiday.
There was no iron and board allowed in the room, instead quite a trek to an ironing room in another part of the hotel, via reception. Who wants to show everyone their ironing in reception?
On the day we wanted fresh towels, we were advised to leave them on the floor. We went out on a trip at 8.30am, and when we got back at 6pm, the towels were still there so we had to phone reception to bring clean ones.
The pool bar was good, and I liked the indoor pool which was nice and quiet, although there seemed to limited spa services offered as no one was around.
This is our second time in Madeira but first time in this hotel. The location is excellent a 30 min walk into Funchal and 2 min walk from location restaurants, shops and bars. The hotel is huge. The room was clean and was kept clean throughout our week stay.
