Excellent hotel and experience, highly recommend
William restaurant outstanding. Cipriani disappointing and plenty of good restaurants close by. If you want peace get a room that avoids refurbishment work going on the 5th floor. Talk to the concierge team, they are really helpful. Would definitely stay here again if we came back.

As always a wonderful holiday
This is the 5th time of staying at Belmont Reid's Hotel, we decided to go this September to celebrate my 75th birthday, and to have Tea on the famous Terrace, which we have done before, and is always so lovely. To be honest we have always had a wonderful holiday at Reid's, the staff are absolutely wonderful, so friendly and helpful. Whatever the accommodation we have had, it has always been very good, the pool is wonderful for swimming, with wonderful views and great service at poolside for food and drink. I have to say the breakfast is amazing with so much choice, you can even have a glass of champagne if you can drink that early in the morning. For us it was just so lovely to see Lucia again, Lucia meets you as you go into breakfast, she remembered us from when we were last there in 2018, which was so lovely. The chaps at the entrance to the Hotel, are just so helpful, if you need to find out about anything they will sort it out for you. A special thank you to Alexandros and Gilberto for all their help ad advice. Hopefully we will be back at some point again soon. It's a wonderful Hotel, with loads of history to it, if you want an ultra modern Hotel, this would not be for you, but if you want old fashion glamour, a Hotel with a History that goes back to about 1891 then please give it a try.

Exquisite
Very special place, we had a lovely stay and can’t wait to return. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who are all very well mannered, polite and friendly. Beautiful building with magnificent views of Madeira.

Just returned from five wonderful days at Reid’s Madeira and what a fabulous experience from start to finish.
The welcome begins the minute you arrive, a genuinely friendly reception team and a seamless check-in, accompanied by a rather lovely glass of chilled wine on the Tea Terrace. Bliss!
The hotel is in a wonderful location, close enough to enjoy a short walk into Funchal, but once inside the beautiful grounds it feels like a real escape. The facilities are excellent, including the lovely new spa and gym area, swimming pools and direct access to the sea.
Our room on the 5th floor was in a fantastic location, opening directly onto the garden with stunning views. Walk just a few steps further and you’re surrounded by the most beautiful tropical gardens. It really is the best walk to the pool you’ll ever have! A bit random but the Bed Linens are probably the most luxurious I've experienced.
The staff make this hotel what it is. Everyone is warm and friendly while remaining completely professional, and nothing ever seems too much trouble.
We had a lovely meal at Brisa do Mar, where the traditional Portuguese food was excellent, especially the slow cooked pork cheek. New chef Antonio at Cipriani is also introducing some fantastic dishes. If you visit, try the lobster Fettuccine. You won’t regret it!
The Sommelier also deserves a mention. Incredibly knowledgeable, but so warm and approachable, with excellent recommendations whatever your budget.
Every area of service is exceptional, you could list so many people. A huge thank you to Sara in Guest Relations and Francesca on Front Desk, who both looked after us wonderfully.
And finally, a special mention for GM Eduardo Peregrino. He has that rare ability to make guests feel personally welcomed, seen and appreciated. At the same time, he is clearly bringing fresh ideas and a real sense of energy to the hotel, while respecting its wonderful history, traditions and unique character.
Reid’s is undoubtedly a beautiful hotel in a stunning setting, but it is the people, the service and history that really make it special.
A truly wonderful five days. We've already booked a return visit for next year.
